Not only does this give students more of an incentive to buy what may be en expensive computer for college, it also helps Apple gain a larger user base for the SDK once it comes out. This can help Apple make more money, obviously, but it can also help out developers. With more iPods out there accessing the AppStore, the more likely a developer’s chances are to sell more of their products.
