Your favorite monitoring app, iStat, goes v1.3

iStat Menus from iSlayer, one of the best Mac system monitoring apps out there, has been updated to version 1.3, and is still free (however, they do love donations to support further development). This version has so many updates and new features that the developers were able to fill a whole page with them. Here are some of the main ones:

• Added configuration switching for network connections where applicable – vpn, modem, bluetooth (10.5).
• Network extra now shows decimal values for KB/Kb values.
• Bug fixes with using a SMART drive as the primary temperature sensor. Improved SMART temperature monitoring.
• Added option to disable SMART temperature monitoring when running on battery power.
• The Fans extra has been renamed “Fans & Power.” It can now monitor power, current and voltage sensors on PPC and Intel Macs.

While you are over at the iSlayer site be sure to check out some of their other downloads, as well. They have widgets available for monitoring your systems memory usage, hard disk space, and network usage, just like iStat Menus does. Along with these, there is also a pretty addictive widget called “I Love Lamp” that is simply a lava lamp. Be sure to check back and let us know what you think.
