Find a restaurant with a shake

Urban Spoon, a popular restaurant review website, announced they are developing a restaurant finder app for the iPhone. UrbanSpoon.com contains a database of thousands of restaurant reviews in 41 cities throughout the US and some in Canada. Plug your criteria into the phone (such as distance from where you are, price range, etc.) and give the phone a shake! The Application utilizes the iPhone’s accelerometer to give you a random restaurant (as long as it fits your criteria) in a Magic 8-Ball manner.

“We wanted to take advantage of the physicality of the iPhone, so we’re using the accelerometer,” said Urbanspoon co-founder Ethan Lowry. “So we’ve developed an application for the iPhone that’s part slot machine, part Magic 8-Ball.”
