What would you say if I said you could overclock your Mac?

ZDNet Overclocking App
Although finding an overclocking application for Windows is as easy as finding a car in a parking lot, the same thing couldn’t be said for Mac OS X… until now. ZDNet has solved this problem by creating the cleverly named ZDNet Clock that will overclock your processor and memory. For the current version, 1.0, all you need is an Intel based Mac running Mac OS X v10.5 or higher. They claim to have tried their application on three different machines, and it works on all of them.

Even more exciting is that ZDNet reports that the “improvement in performance is quite remarkable.” For example, the cheapest Mac Pro, which has a 2.8GHz processor, was able to run faster than the 3.2 GHz model by simply increasing the CPU frequency and the main memory clock speed. On top of all this great news, ZDNet also “plays it safe when overclocking.” They add, “ZDNet Clock does not use any voltage increase for the CPU, the front-side bus (FSB) or the memory modules.”

Could this get any better?
