Software update round-up – July 7, 2008

Software updates and announcements for July 7, 2008:

• Robert Kuilman has released a new version of Media Catalog, a media indexing application for Mac OS X. This new version continues the trend of improvement that has been set in previous releases.
• Steve Wilmes Consulting, Inc. has released the “Functions and Operators” Developer’s Card for FileMaker Pro. The card is a detailed reference that has every FileMaker function and error code on one double sided-8 1/2 x 11 inch (A4)-U/V coated card.
• baKno has announced the release of Kasino 2.0, a cards simulation game for Mac OS X. Combined with its sleek design, user options as well as online gaming, Kasino is sure to offer engaging game play for all ages.
• Sorenson Media, a worldwide leader for video compression solutions, has announced the immediate availability of the Sorenson Spark Software Developers Kit (Sorenson Spark SDK) for embedded chipset companies and digital device manufacturers. The kit enables developers to add the popular Sorenson Spark decoder to nearly any digital device with an embedded programmable processor and allows playback of high-speed Adobe® Flash®-based video on cell phones and portable media devices. Sorenson Spark is the codec currently used on YouTube.
• Noodlesoft has announced the availability of Hazel 2.2 for Mac OS X. Hazel 2.2 focuses on power users, providing many features for advanced workflows. In this release, Hazel introduces powerful pattern matching features as well as the ability to define custom tokens.
• ZappTek has introduced Legends, their premier book service for iPhone and iPod touch. Partnering with today’s hottest writers, ZappTek will be distributing the best in cutting-edge fiction, while Legends brings the full reading experience to the iPhone and iPod touch.
