I guess it was inevitable The iPhone Dev Team has a new video showing off their PwnageTool 2.0, which jailbreaks the new iPhone 3G. Though this provides no public date of release for the software, it does reopen doors. When the iPhone 3G is capable of being jailbroken, it breathes new life into the very active developer community that existed prior to Apple’s App Store. While one may think the App Store is perfect, third-party applications downloaded from it cannot be run in the background, which is quite a big deal for some.
In any case, it is always good to see the unofficial developer community still going strong.
Hit the jump for the video.
