  • Nisus Software today announced the release of Nisus Writer Express 3.1, their affordable word processor for Mac OS X. Nisus Writer Express 3.1 adds new features such as Go to Page, Dutch and Polish localizations, and a large caret option. These new features add to an already rich feature set packaged in a legendary user experience that won Nisus Writer Express “Best Overall Word Processor” in lab tests by MacUser UK.
  • Just in time for your next family reunion or summer road trip, Synium Software has announced MobileFamilyTree—the brand-new mobile client application for MacFamilyTree 5. MobileFamilyTree is a full-fledged genealogy database application for the iPhone and iPod touch. You have access to most of the data fields you know from MacFamilyTree 5. Browse persons and families with ease, access the full depth of information.
  • Berlin based nova media updated ‘Phone plugins’ to version 2.2 today, offering context menu support to send text messages and dial numbers with Apple Mail. Phone plugins is a utility to quick-dial a selected number and quick-send a text message with one click from any program in Mac OS X Leopard, and does not require opening an extra application.
  • Dare to be Creative today announced the release of Dragoman 1.3, a universal batch file converter for Mac OS X Tiger and Leopard. On popular demand, the new release adds support for more music formats, notably MP3, the iTunes native MP4 format, and Ogg Vorbis. Also added on popular demand is the ability to convert between text documents such as Microsoft Word, Rich Text Format and HTML.
  • The popular software tracking website, iusethis, has expanded its reach to iPhone users today. Members can now submit, browse and vote up iPhone applications.   • MacMod has announced the beginning of the 5th annual “Great MacMod Challenge” sponsored by iFixit. MacMod is home to Apple Macintosh computer users who modify their computer and software, in sometimes extreme cases. The Great MacMod Challenge 2008 is the fifth of the annual event where computer “modders” submit their creations for a review by a panel of judges for over $2,000 worth of prizes.
