Only third-party applications are affected by this bug, so your game of Super Monkey Ball may have to wait until September. However, the iPhone’s default apps (Phone, Mail, Safari, etc.) will work as normal.
The bug is due to the way iTunes monitors App Store purchases. “One member of Apple’s forums has been told by a support agent that his iTunes account was apparently “split into two separate accounts.” This confuses an iPhone when it attempts to launch an app. Once again, DRM has messed everything up.
