iLounge has scraped up some details about the much rumored new iPods that may be coming our way September 9th Apple event.
We’ve reported on rumored dimensions for the new iPod nano before, but this is a first for the iPod touch 2G rumor.

Supposedly, the new iPod Nano will be 90.75mm tall by 38.75mm wide by 6.08mm deep, or .38mm thinner and 1.25mm narrower than the second generation of iPod Nanos. Will you notice the difference? Probably not. Still, though, it’s always nice to see Apple’s devices become thinner and thinner. Who knows, one day they’ll probably be paper thin. One last observation; this seems to kill the curved screen rumor that was widely disliked. Only thin and flat nanos here.

This pic shows the iPod touch 2G moving in a direction that is completely in line with the natural progression of the product. The original iPod touch was designed similarly to the iPhone, and continuing in that vein, the iPod Touch 2G may very well have a curved backside just like it’s iPhone 3G sibling.
The measurements here are 1mm taller and .4mm deeper than the original iPod touch, making it 111mm tall by 61.8mm wide and 8.4mm deep. This is still noticeably thinner than the iPhone 3G by 3.9mm.
I don’t think any of these rumors are that far fetched, but until Apple’s September 9th event, they remain just that…rumors.
