Music websites Pandora and Last.fm, both of which expose users to new artists and music based on their listening choices, have praised the new iTunes 8 Genius feature.
And in an article from Wired, Last.fm co-founder Martin Stiksel noted they’re already doing the same thing, but in a different way:
“It basically validates what we’ve been doing,” said Last.fm cofounder Martin Stiksel. “But we base our recommendations on everything you listen to—not just on Apple products—and we don’t just do it for an e-commerce end, we connect users to their musical soulmates and give concert recommendations, too.”
