To start off the call, Peter Oppenheimer gave us the run down on all of the important details.
It’s also quite evident that Apple’s iPhone is doing well; even better than expected, actually.
And to think that Apple hasn’t even maxed out the numbed of countries in which the iPhone is sold. Currently, they are up to 51 countries, and will get over 70 by years end.
Steve Jobs made a rare appearance during the call as you may now, and had some notable things to say,
In the last quarter, Apple outsold RIM by 800,000 devices (cell phones).
Remember, this is in revenue, not units. The ranking is as follows: Nokia, Samsung, and Apple. Steve also points out that the 200 millionth app on the App Store should already have been downloaded at the time of this article. And here’s what Jobs has to say in concerns about an economic outloook.
Steve also breifly mentions NetBooks at the end in the question and answer section. Basically, we won’t be seeing an iTablet type NetBook from Apple anytime soon, unless their market really grows. But I thought the Asus Eee PCs were selling like crazy? Who knows.
If you were waiting to hear more about that juicy Mac mini rumor, then you’re going to have to wait a bit longer. If Apple killed the Mac Mini, they didn’t mention it. I personally think that the Mac Mini is due for a refresh, possibly with a “bag-of-hurt” BluRay drive, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see that pan out.
