Yeah, so does Windows, and look how well that worked for them.
The page, which has apparently been giving sensible advice for years, has recently become a hot topic on the web because it seems to contradict Apple’s marketing message that Macs are less prone to viruses than Windows. Which they are, but they’re not immune. A fact with which, and this is where it gets really confusing, Apple seems to agree, because Evans then goes on to say that having antivirus software “may offer additional protection.” No kidding.
Macs have recently been gaining marketshare, leading some to speculate that as the computers become more popular, they may become targets for malicious programs.
