Macworld Expo rumor round-up

Macworld Expo is almost upon us, so we’ll soon have official announcements to report on. But we wouldn’t be Apple fans if we didn’t want to rumor about what’s going to happen before it’s official. Based on recent rumors, here’s what we may be seeing at Macworld next week; just don’t expect Jobs.

Mac Mini Rumors

• New Mac Mini to be introduced at Macworld? – The Mac Mini is long overdue for an update, so it’s very likely that we’ll be seeing a new one at the Keynote.
• Dual display port coming to new Mac mini – This rumor states that a new Mac Mini may also include both a Mini DisplayPort, like Apple pretty much promised, along with a more standard Mini DVI port for dual display support.

iMac Rumors

• New cooling system, processors coming to next-gen Macs at Macworld 2009 or later? – Next-gen iMacs are rumored to have a new cooling system to allow for the increase heat output from a Core 2 Quad. That’s right, a quad chip in a future iMac, though it’s unlikely to happen at a Macworld, let alone this Macworld.
• More evidence for new iMacs and Mac Minis with NVIDIA chipsets – If the Mac Mini and iMac product update rumors pan out it’s very likely that they will include NVIDIA chipsets along with Mini DisplayPort connections.

iPhone Nano Rumors

• XSKN cases hint at new Apple iPhone Nano – New cases from XSKN and others point to an iPhone Nano.
• iPhone Nano rumors just won’t quit – No matter how impractical the device might sound, rumors of the iPhone Nano are flying. Here are some renders of just what it might look like.

Software Rumors

• iMovie is moving out… going to the cloud – iMovie may be making it’s way to the cloud, which would let users edit and share videos online. If true, even PC users might be able to use iMovie and all the while helping to save YouTube from unedited videos.
