Zinio, a website which acts as a virtual newsstand, allowing you to purchase subscriptions to digital versions of popular magazines, is offering some of its content for free on the iPhone and iPod touch.
The magazines include obvious choices such as Macworld (English and Spanish versions) and iPhone Life, but also uncensored versions of Playboy and Penthouse, also famous for their technology reviews. After accessing the site at www.zinio.com/iphone, users can make a selection from the current issues. They will be asked for an email address (which you can bypass by hitting cancel), and in the case of magazines with adult content, be asked to verify their age.
Users can then flick through thumbnails of each page, or use the contents features to zoom to the article you want to read. From there you can zoom in on a particular page to get it to a readable size.
