Snow Leopard System Preferences

Sure, Apple has the AppleTV, but what you really want is a full fledged desktop on your TV; am I right? Thanks to Flickr user Stellarola, we’ve got an interesting screen capture from the latest build of Snow Leopard. The image you see above seems to indicate that Apple will be supporting HDTV screen sizes in the Display portion of System Preferences.

Now, this could be perfectly innocent. Many computer monitors have such screen sizes, but I’d rather think there is more to this! I mean, look at the special icon next to the HDTV sizes in the image above. Call me crazy, but that seems to suggest some intent to be displayed on a TV. Is Apple finally ready to make the Mac Mini that I’ve been dreaming of? The Ultimate Home Theatre Mac Mini? Am I reading to much in to this? Let me know what you think in the comments!

Note. There are some other interesting things relating to Snow Leopard in this photostream, so definitely take a peak.

  1. Was my first thought, too, when I saw the picture on 9to5mac. Hopefully they do the "MacMini that does it all" instead of the "TVwithMac", some whispers were going around about, lately. Remember that Panel-Deal Apple made lately? I really hope they don`t do it, as my wife will not allow me to buy an overpriced TV-Set, because it just has an Apple Logo on it.

  2. It definitely seems like Apple has something up there sleeves.
