WordsWorthLast week, we ran a contest at Appletell in which we gave away three copies of WordsWorth for iPhone and iPod touch, courtesy of developer 99games. We asked readers to simply tell us their favorite word, from which we’d select our favorites, then randomly pick the winners from the reduced list. The process is done, and the winners are…

Well, first, let’s look at our favorites, and why, in no particular order:

  • Serendipity – Winning this contest would be the very definition.
  • Sesquipedalianism – Is the entrant mocking us and our contest with this suggestion? Gutsy.
  • Buzz – We never though of it before, but yeah, this is a cool word. Who doesn’t love a good onomatopoeia?
  • Change – Oooh. Deep.
  • Bildungsroman – Not only is not pronounced like you’d think, but it doesn’t mean what it should. This word shouldn’t even exist.
  • Boogutons – And this word doesn’t exist. It was made up so the entrant to make fun of his/her brother without getting yelled at by his/her mother. All words have to start somewhere, right?

Despite these great entries, there can only be three random winners. So, Helen (serendipity), Rav (buzz) and Bee (change)—claim your promo codes for WordsWorth. Thanks to 99games for providing us with the free copies. Be sure to visit them online to learn more about their iPhone apps, and check back with us very soon to learn about our next iPhone related contest.
