It’s no surprise that Apple will soon sell their one billionth application through the iTunes App Store. However, the way they are celebrating it is sort of neat, and something we don’t often see from Apple. They are hosting a contest and giving away a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule, and a MacBook Pro, while they’re at it. That’s right, all you have to do is purchase an app or fill out the online entry form to enter yourself and get a chance to win. Check out Apple’s contest page for the official rules.
To add to this contest, Apple has created a top 20 apps of all time chart on the iTunes App Store that shows the 20 best application from both the free and paid categories. On top of the paid list is Crash Bandicoot Racing, and on top of the free list is Facebook. A sort of funny app that made it is a simply flashlight application that comes at number 10 in the free applications.
Be sure to check the contest out and enter for a chance to win!
