Free Apps roundup for May 29th, 2009I’m never going to tell a lie, which is why you know I’m telling the truth when I say that it was not the most interesting week on the App Store. But you know that I’m never gunna let you down, so instead of running around, I found a nice list of useful and entertaining apps for your weekend anyway. Check it out, and just because I’m done here, doesn’t mean that I’m saying goodbye.

  • PhotoCleaner – If you take pictures with your iPhone, then you might be accustomed to a bit of noise. It’s a crappy 2MP camera, after all, and it’s obviously not the top priority of the device. Still, this app can help clean up some of the noise and grain that only belongs on wood. It even exports in numerous sizes. Definitely worth a download for people who take and send pictures directly from their iPhone.
  • Audiobooks – I wonder what this app does. If app developers would start naming their apps appropriately… oh right. This app somehow gives you access to over 1,800 audiobooks without charging at all. That’s over 9,800 hours worth of audio, which is way, way, way more time than I ever intend to spend reading books. If you’re a book lover, but hate actually reading, you could do worse than this.
  • iSuperstar Free – Turn a picture of yourself or someone you know into a fun magazine cover. The free version comes with 10 covers, and honestly, who would pay for more? This should be enough fun to keep you amused for at least a minute or two.
  • Euphonics LE – Another strange instrument for you to play around with. It’s exactly like a keyboard…only different. If you’re bored and have some musical talent, this one’s for you.
  • RickRoll – Get Rick Roll’d – I seriously couldn’t believe how many times I’ve explained what “Rick Rolling” is to coworkers this past week. Help end this unfortunate ignorance by Rick Rolling everyone you know just to be safe.
