Based on recent sales figures, chances are high that you now have an iPhone 3GS (and are also out of money as a result). But don’t worry, I have your back. It’s Friday again, and here comes my list of great apps on the App Store that are free of charge. You’re welcome, no problem really, just doing my job.
Waterslide Extreme – Remember when Sonic (the hedgehog) used to be fun? Yeah, I know, it’s been a while. This game gives me that feeling I had when I was, like, 10 or so, playing the bonus levels of Sonic that were pseudo 3D. Basically, you’re a nameless human sliding down a waterslide filled with diamonds (points), obstacles and a few power ups. Reminds me of the last time I went to Noah’s Ark Water Theme Park! This game is pretty cool, and not just because it’s free.
TwitVid – All the cool kids these days are on Twitter…well, at least I am, and I’m pretty cool. What better way to announce your current status to the world than to post a video with your brand new iPhone 3GS? TwitVid is what you need (unless you just want to upload it to YouTube and turn on Twitter announcements, but you already knew that).
Coast Guard – I’m not sure how long this one will last, so grab it while it’s free. You command a ship with which you intend to protect yourself and your island against terrorists. The graphics are fun and the game looks to be a steal at free.
Cyclops – Turn your iPhone 3GS (only) into a one eyed monster…er, a barcode scanner. You can scan a barcode with the camera and it goes out to Amazon and figures out the product you’re looking at, as if you didn’t already know. Could be handy for you to quickly find out the online price of a product you found interesting in store.
Signals – This app gives you access to a user-submitted iPhone signal strength database. I’m not certain how you’d actually use this, but it could be interesting to know where signals typically drop out in your area.
