Macintosh

  • Open Reel Software has released Aether 1.1, a major update to their popular ham radio logging software for Mac OS X. Aether helps amateur radio operators quickly and easily log contacts while on the air, as well as organize, search, and track contacts later. Aether features an attractive, easy-to-use interface, with many powerful logging and operating features. Version 1.1 sports major new features, such as automatic calculation of beam heading and distance to contacted stations and more.
  • Macgamestore.com has announced the release of Scrabble Plus, the top-selling new edition of America’s favorite word game, for the Macintosh. Created by Gamehouse, Scrabble Plus for Mac gives you the classic word-building fun of Scrabble, plus exciting head-to-head dual board play, strategic maneuvers, arcade-style gameplay, and fun new game themes. Play the way you remember with the original, all-time fan favorite Scrabble crossword game, plus three fun new themes.

iPhone/iPod

  • Clocking well over 35 million online plays and downloads since its initial launch in 2005, the puzzle phenomenon Tumblebugs is making its way to iPhone and iPod touch consoles, courtesy of Dundee-based developer Tag Games and Manchester-based publisher Connect2Media. The collaboration will see a revamped version of Wildifre Studios’ original title, developed exclusively for Apple devices and launching on iTunes in August.
  • j2sighte has announced that version 2.0 of A Doodle Fight is now available, adding many new features: you can draw your own plane, there’s now a final boss, scores can be posted online, and more.
  • Game Studio9 has announced that Tiles Classic is now available for download via the App Store. In Tiles Classic, players don’t just tap to select and leave everything to be sorted in a magical way, they have to slide the tile pieces left and right and top to bottom to recreate the broken picture. This is the rule of Tiles Classic. Shuffle the tile pieces to unearth the original appearance of the pictures, it’s that simple.
  • iPhone CAZE has introduced Silver Tone, a new style of its metallic series for iPhone 3G/3GS. Silver Tone features a bright mirrored surface and extremely thin design.   • Dynadel has announced the release of LukaLike 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch. The LukaLike application is a face features analyzer tool used to determine how similar two human faces are. Luka-Like will analyze a face photo against two base images and will select which one of these two images share more facial elements with the subject photo. You can compare any subject to any other two frontal faces. Only human faces are recognized, no pet face analysis yet.
  • Vela Design Group has released MagicHour 1.4.5 for iPhone and iPod touch. MagicHour is a world clock with unique features and an easily configurable user interface. Users can quickly display the time of sunrise, sunset, dawn and dusk for three kinds of twilight, moon phase and tilt, and much more. MagicHour is invaluable to iPhone and iPod touch users who travel or communicate with friends and colleagues around the world.
  • Dynadel has announced the release of Baby Gender 3.0 for iPhone and iPod touch. Baby Gender allows you to predict the gender of the baby of your pregnant friends based on their birth dates. The application is based on the biological rhythms of the baby’s parents. This method tries to identify which chromosomes are stronger and dominant at the time of conception, the males or the females, based on the birth date of the parents.
  • Have a dead or low iPhone or iPod battery? No problem. Now you don’t need to be tethered to a computer/wall outlet/car adapter for the time it takes to charge the battery when you just don’t have the time and/or these other power sources are not convenient. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery integrated in the X-Power1 charge/sync cable lets you have additional portable power when you need it, “when” you’re away from a power source.
