Macintosh

  • With the release of Snow Leopard, Mac fans are now experiencing a new system which brought simplicity, reliability, and ease of use. At the same time, many users have been wondering whether their current applications will be compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.   • KavaSoft has released KavaServices 4.0, a collection of useful commands that transforms the Services menu in Mac OS X Snow Leopard. KavaServices can translate, search the web, encode for HTML, calculate, convert units, sort, change case, execute commands, and much more. Snow Leopard’s redesigned Services menu is context-sensitive and fully customizable. Version 4.0 is a 64-bit universal application, and is designed specifically for Snow Leopard.
  • Yazsoft has announced Speed Download 5.2.3, an important update to their popular download manager for Mac OS X. Speed Download 5 redefines the Mac OS X download manager by combining four amazing products: a turbo-charged download manager, a fully featured secure FTP client, a file sharing utility with full encryption, and complete .Mac/iDisk/WEBDAV connectivity, into one small and easy to use application. Version 5.2.3 is updated and tweaked specifically for Snow Leopard.
  • Eltima Software has announced SyncMate 2.0, the multitask sync software for Mac OS X. SyncMate enables all users to sync data between Mac OS X computer and a list of devices, such as Windows Mobile devices, Nokia S40 phones and other Macs. SyncMate also supports Google account synchronization. With SyncMate you can back up data to Online Storage Account.
  • Creaceed has released version 2.1.2 of Hydra, its HDR photography application for creating images which are closer to what you actually see.
  • Acapela Group and AssistiveWare have announced a public beta of Infovox iVox 2.0. Infovox iVox 2.0 brings Snow Leopard compatibility, significantly improves performance and responsiveness and adds a number of new voices for the following languages: Arabic, French, German, Flemish, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Turkish. These voices work with virtually any Speech Manager compliant Mac OS X application, including VoiceOver, Preview, and TextEdit.
  • Old Jewel Software has released LazyMouse 2.1.9, a minor update to its popular Mac shareware utility. LazyMouse is a Preference Pane that moves the user’s cursor to the default button whenever a dialog box appears on the screen. It saves time moving the mouse to dismiss dialogs. Because this is the last planned version to work in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, LazyMouse is now free on Tiger.
  • 360Works has announced the release of updated versions of their entire product line for compatibility with Mac OS X Snow Leopard. These updates are free to current users, and demo versions are available to everybody. The newest versions of the 360Works suite of tools guarantee seamless transition for mac users and can be downloaded from the company’s website.
  • Boxee added a slew of new apps this week, the highlights of which include Conde Nast (Wired / Style / Style Photos), eGuiders, Kid Mango, Fora.TV, UNICEF, and Rev 3.
  • Indev Software has announced the immediate release of Mail Act-On 2.1. Mail Act-On is a powerful enhancement to Apple’s Mail Application that puts organization at your fingertips. iPhone/iPod
