Never heard of Be.ez? That’ll “be easy” to fix, because now you have. Actually, they’ve been making bags and notebook protectors for a while now. They’ve just announced their new line of notebook bags specifically designed for MacBooks with protection and style in mind. Let’s take a look.

The LE rush bag comes in three color schemes: Black Coffee (Black with brown inside), Lime Park (Green with Yellowish inside), and Lagoon Dream (Grey with Blue inside). It’s available in two sizes that correspond to the 13 and 15 inch MacBook Pros. The bag is made of nylon, which is very durable. Actually, a lot of the detailing looks exactly like the stuff they make seat belts out of, which I think is quite appealing. The handles are simply that material folded over itself and sewn, so there isn’t a lot of padding there. The shoulder strap is again just a strip of that same seat belt material, so it’s like you’re strapped in!

There are enough pockets scattered throughout the bag to keep nearly everyone happy. On the front side there is one big flap that covers a pocket that spans the entire front of the bag. Inside of that there is a zipper closed pocket, which itself hides two more sectioned off pockets. The back has three open pockets, good for things like power cables, a mouse, etc. The inside, and most important part of the bag, is that same nylon material. Your notebook goes in the center. There are even more pockets in here; two on one side, and one on the other with a velcro closure. If you can’t fit all of your junk in here, you might need to consider just what is actually necessary.

The bag certainly has enough pockets, but I doubt the shoulder strap was designed with these pockets in mind. What I mean is that you could really weigh this bag down quite easily. But the shoulder strap is not padded whatsoever. And just to make your shoulder feel even worse, it’s fairly thin, as well. So, you’ll either not want to pack everything you own into this bag, or you’ll not want to use it for a very long period of time. I don’t think this kills the bag’s usability, since you could buy another strap, or use the handles, but it does detract from the overall usefulness.

While I like this bag, it won’t be replacing my Incase notebook bag that I’ve had for quite some time. It is quite similar, but its shoulder strap is much more forgiving. The inside of my Incase bag is lined with a nice velvety material that keeps my MacBook Pro feeling spoiled. And honestly, I also like the color scheme better, but that’s just my preference. Then again, I was more than once told that you’re not allowed to wear black and brown together, so I’m not sure why Be.ez thinks it’s okay to design a bag with that color scheme. I guess I just like the monotony of a single color. Still, I think this bag is as nice of a choice as many bags on the market. If you like the seat belt design, you’re very likely to enjoy this bag.
