From the latest reports and rumors flying around, it’s possible to make this conclusion. If various sources can be trusted, Apple should release a touch-screen tablet device on January 27th. Of course, this is still simply a collection of rumors, but it’s not just a single rumor that keeps making the rounds—there are quite a few in circulation, and each has a level of plausibility.
The folks over at Engadget claim to have sources very close to Apple HQ that confirm information about a tablet device, and say that iPhone app developers have instructions to increase the screen sizes and resolutions of their applications (not all developers, of course—likely just a couple handpicked by Apple).
It is certainly becoming quite a strong possibility that Apple are to release a tablet device towards the end of this month, but what if they didn’t? I’d hate to be Steve Jobs for that keynote, present a couple of new items, leave the stage, and watch the Apple share prices steadily decline. Or if there is a new tablet, walk on stage, present and demo the brand new device, leave the stage and be one step closer to world domination. Either way, rumor has it that January 27th has an Apple press event on the cards.
Stay tuned on Appletell for tablet rumor-round ups and our thoughts on what else the upcoming keynote could bring. Also, don’t forget – you’ll be able to find any Apple-related highlights from CES and Macworld 2010 here too. There’s really no reason to leave for the next couple of months.

As a photographer, I sure hope the (i-slate) has the capability to shoot to when tethered to a digital camera, (usb and or firewire ports). If so that would be great, which means I could leave my laptop at home and just take the i-slate with me on location to shoot to and download images.
