So, last week I was stranded in Las Vegas with limited access to Internet and cell phone, thanks largely to AT&T not knowing that there was a little something called CES going on. I called AT&T, but they aren’t sorry (not surprised). Thankfully, Ed Parry covered for me last week (thanks Ed). But I still feel a little bad, so hopefully this week’s extra large list will make up for my absence last week.
Sailboat Championship – Here’s a wonderfully designed game. Just look at those graphics above. It just makes you want to play, doesn’t it? You’ll have to be good though, if you want to beat everyone else around the planet. Thankfully, you won’t have to sail around the world to do it, since it works with Open Feint. All you’ll have to do is download it.
Scene It? Movies Free – If you like movies, you’ll like this game. You’ll need to remember movies pretty well though, as Scene It? tends to test every bit of movie knowledge. Very fun.
GO! Trivia Lite – Here’s another knowledge-based game. It tests your trivia knowledge against questions from YouPlay.com. Looks pretty polished too.
iHome+Sleep – A free app? Yup. This is another clock app, but it’s somewhat unique in that it keeps stats on various bits of info. Like how many times you’ve hit snooze in the past, or your favorite albums to fall asleep to, etc. This has to be one of the most fun night stand apps I’ve seen yet.
Acrobat.com mobile – This app gives you access to your account at Acrobat.com. Big surprise, but it even lets you take pictures of documents with your iPhone 3GS and upload them and do all of the usual Acrobat.com stuff.
Touch Mouse – So, Logitech makes great mice, and apparently, hardware isn’t enough for them. Nope, and here’s the evidence. It’s a mouse app for iPhone. You’ll of course need to download the desktop software enabler. Pretty cool of them to offer it for free considering this sort of app normally fetches a few dollars.
Find-a-Chord – This is for all the guitarists out there. This app makes finding a particular chord much easier. Just slide to select the key and then the type of chord you’d like. It doesn’t appear to be exhaustive, but hey, it’s free.
Music Draw – It’s what you get when you combine finger painting and instruments. Well, not really, because if you did that in real life, it would probably suck, whereas this instrument will sound pretty cool no matter how musically illiterate you are.
Auto Portrait (Free) – This app takes the guesswork out of taking a self portrait. It allows you to determine where you want your face before you take the picture, then it will instruct you on how to reposition your iPhone to achieve this. It’s going to talk to you, and you’re likely going to look silly, but hey, it’s still kinda cool that your iPhone can even do this.
TapStack – Essentially it’s just a timer app, and the iPhone already has one of these. The real reason I put this on the list is because I learned how to solve a Rubik’s cube several months back. This app is specialized for timing your ability to solve a Rubik’s cube with its oversized stop/start button.
