Macintosh

  • TheMacBundles has announced the release of its first bundle of 2010. The new bundle of 12 highly rated titles represents a saving of over 88% off the retail value of the bundle. Even Mac users that work with Windows and PC users will benefit from the bundle due to software in the bundle that brings great Mac features to Boot Camp users, users of virtualization software, and PC users. Also, 2 new weekly specials have been added to TheMacBundles’ website.
  • .com Solutions Inc. has released FmPro Migrator Platinum Edition 5.46 with PHP and BASIC to revTalk Conversion Features. The BASIC and PHP to revTalk conversion features included with FmPro Migrator Platinum Edition help automate the conversion of PHP and BASIC code into the Rev development platform. Rev and the revTalk language can be used to deploy applications to MacOS X, Windows and Linux desktops, as a Web browser plug-in revLet, the server and mobile devices.
  • The agenda has now been set for the Ninth Annual San Francisco SuperMeet to take place on Friday, February 5, 2010 at the UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, CA. Doors open at 3:30PM and presentations begin at 7PM and continue until 11:00PM. This SuperMeet promises to be the single largest gathering of Final Cut Studio, Adobe and Avid editors, gurus and digital filmmakers in the Bay Area for all of 2010.
  • Mental health software company Optimism Apps has announced Optimism 3.2, its popular mood chart and health planning application for OS X. At its core Optimism helps a person to monitor the triggers and warning signs of a decline in their mental health, and develop strategies that help them to remain well. Database fields can be customized to be very specific to the individual’s circumstances. Version 3.2 continues to develop the charts to improve the contextual information available.

iPhone/iPod

  • Kind Eagle, LLC has introduced TrackGeek 2010, their news-based running application for iPhone and iPod touch devices. Designed to leverage the iPhone’s unique capabilities and touch interface, TrackGeek is an annual app specifically developed for the running community, offering the latest breaking headlines and stories from Hayward Field to Heartbreak Hill.   • Frolicware has introduced AutoPark 1.0, their new parking reminder and locator for iPhone and iPod touch devices. Developed specifically to leverage the iPhone’s unique capabilities and touch interface, AutoPark keeps track of time left on the meter and sends warning alarms to avoid parking tickets. It also helps users find their parked car using the iPhone’s built-in GPS, remind them what level they parked in parking lots, as well as find nearby services.
  • Apps Mobilis has introduced The Hare and the Tortoise 1.0, a great story for young children and their new animated audiobook for iPhone and iPod Touch. Designed specifically to leverage the iPhone’s unique abilities and peerless interface, The Hare and the Tortoise is a Moving Audio book based on the classic fable by Aesop.   • Fairlady Media has introduces Stinky Socks 1.0, their hilarious laundry-sorting game for iPhone and iPod touch. Designed to leverage the iPhone’s unique capabilities and touch interface, Stinky Socks is a fun family-oriented game where players help poor Fred deal with the laundry. Sort laundry and match socks as they zip across the laundry line before the dirty pile hits the ceiling. Stinky Socks features six levels of game play with new characters, challenges, and more.
  • HourFace turns a face photo into a 3D face, and can make it look older and younger. Just take a photo of someone’s face and upload. In a minute, the 3D face is downloaded and starts moving and blinking like a real human. The face gradually becomes older (increasing skin blemishes, wrinkles, and slack). If you turn the iPhone, the face becomes younger (clearer skin, eyes get bigger, etc.).
  • Supportware has released Coconut Riot 1.0.1, their exotic themed physics game for iPhone and iPod touch devices. In Coconut Riot you play a native with some serious tiki-issues! You must help him retrieve his inner peace. What better way to achieve this then by using your explosive coconuts to destroy all the tikis that are left on the island. With a great mix of puzzle-elements, realistic physics and action, this game is for everyone.
  • The first Magnetic Sports Soccer update is now available on the AppStore. The update includes world cup game mode for single player, an improved online match system, new openfeint version 2.4, and bugfixes. In Magnetic Sports Soccer you play with your finger to pass the ball to your teammates and shoot to score.

Version 2.0 includes many new features.
  • Zattikka has announced they have found a solution to Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year. Blue Monday is known as the most depressing day of the year because it falls near the middle of Winter, in the distant memory of Christmas, at a time when most of us have failed at our New Year’s resolutions. The solution to those blues is Pink Monday, the day that marks the arrival of Balloon Headed Boy, now free forever, on the iPhone.
