Macintosh

  • Ambrosia Software, Inc. has announced the release of Dragster 1.1.0, a major update to its convenient and configurable file transferring utility. The new version is now compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 “Snow Leopard” and is also a 64-bit universal binary. Dragster lets you quickly and easily send files to remote servers via numerous protocols, and to people via email, Bluetooth & Instant Messaging. The new version adds media sharing capabilities, so you can send pictures and videos to Flickr, Picasa, and YouTube with just a simple drag and drop.
  • Remo Software has announced Remo Recover (Mac), a series of data recovery software along with several PC Optimization Utilities and Security Software. This is an ideal combination of Mac recovery techniques to suite all categories of Mac users. This Mac Recovery Software is available in two different editions, Remo Recover (Mac) – Pro Edition and Remo Recover (Mac) Media Edition.
  • publicspace.net has announced A Better Finder Rename 8.51, an update to its popular file, music and photo renaming utility. A Better Finder Rename is a sophisticated tool that caters for the full range of file renaming tasks encountered by the modern creative professional. The new release overhauls the utilities regular expression support bringing it into line with what experienced command line users or developers have come to expect.
  • Mac-Chi has announced WhoPaste 4.4, an update to their popular contact utility. With WhoPaste Macintosh users finally have a system-wide hot key for initializing new contacts in Address Book, Daylite, Entourage, or Google Contacts. WhoPaste is the most efficient way to create contacts on Macintosh. For brand new contact data just use the new user-configurable hot key. For existing contact data just select the text, control-click, and let WhoPaste extract the contact data automatically.
  • Divine Fiat has announced Classic, their new theme for Apple’s Keynote Presentation Software. The Classic Theme is the perfectly named theme. Its entire look and feel is a throw back to a different era – an era with class and style. The heavy Baskerville font juxtaposed with the airy Helvetica Neue Light font all against a subtly textured and patterned background of reds, browns and a hint of gold bring a timeless weight and authority to your presentations.
  • Gravity Applications has announced Tags 2.0 for Mac OS X. Tags allows users to tag all their files on their Mac, such as files and folders in the finder, emails in Mail, photos in iPhoto, bookmarks in Safari, etc., directly from within the application. It allows the user to associate files of different types to one another with ease and without creating duplicates. Users can apply many different tags to a single file, as well as apply the same tag to multiple files.
  • Creaceed has released the beta version of its latest Mac application: Elasty HD. Elasty HD is a toolbox for people who like recording movies; it gives access to features pretty common in image processing but quite unusual in movie processing. And some more advanced features are also available.

iPhone/iPod/iPad

  • Hive is a board game originally designed by John Yianni and released by Gen Four Two Games in 2001. Courtesy of independent developer Lotusland Studios, this famous board game with a difference is now available on Apple iPhone and Apple iPod touch. Hive is categorized as an abstract strategy game and is highly unique as the pieces are simply placed on a flat surface without the limitations and constraints of a traditional game-board.
  • Mobile DJ Apps, LLC has announced Mobile DJ Sampler Pro and Mobile DJ Sampler Free, its new mobile DJ apps for iPhone and iPod Touch. These exciting apps contain pre-loaded sound samples that you can use to make any DJ event sizzle. Carry your own music sampler on your iPhone to all your DJ gigs.   • KayKhosoft LLC has released iFlashcards 1-to-30 version 1.0 for iPhone and iPod Touch users. The app teaches children ages 2 to 5 their numbers in English and Spanish through the use of colorful flash cards presented with visual and audio teaching. iFlashcards helps youngsters to learn and memorize the first thirty numbers in a fun way and offers scored quizzes to test and reinforce the learning as they go.
  • Tropic Apps has released AI Vote 1.0 for iPhone users, just in time for the ninth season of American Idol. Diehard American Idol fans are going to be thrilled about the launch of AI Vote. It contains all the current voting phone numbers, a live feed of percentage votes, photos, time zone adjustment, one-tap voting and even voting countdown clocks. For AI fans, this is the must have app of the year. Simple tap to vote screen with photos and names of all contestants.
  • BestCoach has released BestLife 1.1 for iPhone and iPod Touch users. The app enables users to effectively carry a Personal Development Coach in their iDevice. It is a great portable tool that anyone can use to fast track their personal development and goals.   • Pocket Coach is a powerful application designed to help individuals identify, set and achieve their goals, as well as improve upon the various aspects of their lives. There are a variety of goal-setting programs on iTunes, but most are limited to one function or a narrow focus.   • Take your child into the magic world of Hidden Stories on your iPhone/iPod Touch. The application includes 30 images in three categories: animals, fairy tales and professions. Just move your finger on your IPhone and the next extraordinary picture is presented.
  • Cute Logic has released Lexo and Lexo LE, fun and addictive word games for iPhone and iPod touch. Lexo features simple, yet challenging gameplay in which players unscramble mixed-up letters to reveal a hidden word. Players can choose between four different game modes, each designed to appeal in different situations, and can opt to play with words from 3 difficulty levels.   • Just in time for the Chinese New Year comes Lucky Day for iPhone/iPod Touch from Silver Lining Ideas, Inc. This new app puts a new spin on the classic Magic 8 Ball concept as Ka Ching the Panda invites you to shake your iPhone and make a wish or ask a question. Users can also win prizes if they figure out how to enter Ka Ching’s secret room.
  • Cardo Systems, Inc. has announced the availability of its new scala rider G4, the most feature-rich bike-to-bike Bluetooth headset available on the market today. From compatibility with any number of Bluetooth-enabled devices to its embedded FM radio, mobile phone support and voice activation, the scala rider G4 is also the first Bluetooth headset to offer group intercom between up to three riders as well as communication among two riders and their two passengers on two bikes at distances up to one mile—a new industry benchmark for motorcycle headsets.
  • Scosche Industries has announced the availability of its solBAT II – solar powered charger and battery backup. The solBAT II works with almost any handheld device that can be charged via a USB cable and feature’s a simple two light indicator that lets users know when the solBAT II it is charging from the sun or a USB cable (red), and when it is passing that stored energy to a handheld (green) like a Blackberry, iPhone, iPod, or PSP.
  • Samson Technologies, an industry leading audio technology manufacturer, has announce two new additions to the Expedition family of Portable Sound Systems. Due out in April of this year, the XP40iw (wireless) and XP510i will join the highly successful XP308i Portable Sound System.
