As Google will tell you, “Gmail is built on the idea that email can be more intuitive, efficient, and useful. And maybe even fun.” Considering that it’s also free, you may now find yourself with multiple Gmail accounts. Whether they’re all yours or you’ve set them up for clients, logging into Google for multiple accounts can be quite a chore. Thankfully, the good folks over at Applelinks have found a way to make Gmail management quite a bit simpler, direct from the desktop: Mailplane.
I was looking for a way to manage my gMail accounts from my Desktop with minimum effort, without giving up the native gMail features. What i found was Mailplane.
Mailplane brings Gmail to your Mac desktop. Mailplane combines Gmail’s spam protection, endless storage, global access, and unique user interface with great Mac features. Mailplane doesn’t access your Gmail account via POP or IMAP, it uses the WebKit browser code so you get the native Gmail interface in a standalone program. Mailplane can store an unlimited number of gMail accounts, and it also works with Google Apps.
A single user license for Mailplane will run you $24.95, and a free trial is available. Grab a copy, then head on over to Applelinks to learn how to use it.

Why not just use the Gmail settings and add a new account for multiple emails within Gmail? Plus you can work offline in Gmail as well. For $24.95, I can click my browser for free and it won't hog resources like a desktop, like Outlook or Entourage. Not sure why this is beneficial?
