iPhone 4 pricing and worldwide availability

Apple’s new iPhone 4 will be available June 24th if you live in the US, France, Germany, Japan, or the UK. Preorders for the device as well as reservations for in store pickups will start the 15th of June. Interestingly, the iPhone will be available online and at AT&T, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy. If you want one, you can choose between white or black and 16GB or 32GB. The prices are $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model with an AT&T contract. AT&T has been “generous” in allowing all customers whose plan ends in 2010 get the subsidized price.
Finally, the iPhone 3GS 8GB model will be available for a slim $99 on June 24th as well. There has been no word yet on what the price of the devices will be for people who aren’t able to start a new plan yet, but we can assume they will be similar to those of past models. Why would you want to wait for the iPhone 4? There’s simply nothing better on the market. Here are some of the new features as Apple puts it:
It also comes with the new iOS 4, an operating system that includes features such as Folders to organize applications and full blown multitasking.
And did you think the iPhone was good at gaming before? Now with a gyro working together with an accelerometer, the iPhone will support 6 axis of rotation, making gaming even better. Apple’s A4 processor and the amazing, new display will also aid in this department. And you wanted an Xbox…how naive.
Lastly, iPhone 4 will also host FaceTime, a WiFi video chatting feature. Using the front facing and back facing camera, iPhone 4 users will be able to host video calls with other iPhone 4 users, making communication that much better across the globe.
