As with most rumors, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard that iWork for iPhone may be on the way. However, this time the rumor is coming with a full picture walkthrough of what one of the iWork apps, Pages, may look like on the iPhone. If you ask me, this gives the rumor a little bit more credibility. That, the fact that iWork for iPad is available, and the release of the iPhone 4 are all somewhat pointing to the idea that this rumor may actually become fact soon.
That said, I’m still not sure how I would feel about editing documents on a screen much smaller than my computer, or even the iPad, for that matter. I’m sure the iPhone 4 (and probably the 3GS) are capable of running a slimmed down, feature cut version of iWorks (much like iMovie on the iPhone 4), but it’d be interesting to see how many people would actually use it.
Also, I’d like to hope that Apple would only charge $4.99 for these apps on the iPhone versus $9.99 for the iPad.
