Google Voice for iPhone

After several months of waiting and being forced to use the Google Voice HTML web app, Google Voice users finally have something to smile about. Google Voice for iPhone is out and is now propagating on the App Store. If you have a Google Voice account you can start enjoying the many features of Google Voice on your iPhone.

And what are these features? Cheap rates for international calls, free text messaging to U.S. numbers, voicemail transcription, and the ability to display your GV number as caller ID when making calls.

To make you even happier, Google Voice for iPhone is also bringing in some cool features you’d normally enjoy in a native iPhone app. These include push notifications, which will alert you instantly when you receive a new voicemail or text messages. The app also places most of your calls via Direct Access Numbers, so connecting these calls is faster than regular phone calls.

Google Voice for iPhone is available now as a free download from the App Store.
