Walmart has announced they’ll be carrying the Verizon iPhone 4 on launch day in select stores. So, if you’re wanting to get your hands on a Verizon iPhone 4, you’ll be able to do so by lining up at one of the nearly 600 Walmart locations across the country on February 10th, 2010. These specific stores will also carry Verizon iPhone 4 accessories (remember, cases may not necessarily be the same as GSM iPhone 4 cases). I’d recommend you get there early if you want one.
Here’s what Gary Severson, senior vice president, Home Entertainment, Walmart U.S. had to say about the news:
We’re excited to bring iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless, one the most anticipated mobile phone launches in recent history, to Walmart customers. As customers continue to embrace smart phone technology, we’ve added nearly 20 smart phone models to our assortment, including the new iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless.
I’m not sure there are any phones that people are as excited about as Apple’s newest iPhone, so I’m not sure that lumping them together as such is really appropriate. Still, the Verizon iPhone 4 is a major development for some, and it’s good to see that you’ll be able to get one at more than just Verizon. Thus, your chances of getting one soon are not as bad as they could be.
I couldn’t find any official method for determining if your local WalMart store will be offering the Verizon iPhone 4 starting launch day. You’re best bet is to just call and check. Chances are they’ll already know if they will, and likely already have any stock that they intend to sell tomorrow.
Remember, iPhone 4 starts at $199 for the 16GB model with a 2 year contract, so be prepared to drop some serious cash.
