iStartupMovie Manager screenshotA fun new tweak that allows jailbreakers to customize the startup of their iDevice’s SpringBoard with a video clip is now available on Cydia, going by the name of iStartupMovie by Vladislav Korotnev. iStartupMovie allows users to select a video clip of their choice to play whenever the SpringBoard starts up, on boot or after a re-spring, right before displaying the home screen.

The video clips used with iStartupMovie must be in .mov or .m4v format and placed in the /var/mobile/Library/StartupMovies directory on an iDevice via SSH. A user can then choose which video to play through the iStartupMovie Manager app.

iStartupMovie is available for free via the BigBoss repo, and is compatible with all iDevices and iOS versions (although iOS 5 compatibility has not been tested).
