If you require the use of a projector in your daily life—such as at work or even when enjoying visual entertainment at home—and you also happen to own an iDevice, you’ll be happy to know Epson has just introduced its MegaPlex line of portable projectors specifically designed for iDevice compatibility. Epson is offering two models of these new projectors, the MG-850HD and MG-50, the former being $100 more expensive at $800 and support for 720p HD with 2800 lumens color and a built-in microphone, while the latter contains the same features minus the HD support to support its $700 price tag.
The MegaPlex contains a dock where a user can sit their iDevice and allow it to charge while projecting media such as photos, movies, and presentations. Both models of the MegaPlex are capable of producing an image 12 times larger than a 40-inch screen and include built-in stereo sound with their two 10-watt speakers—quite impressive specs for portable projectors. The MegaPlex models aren’t limited to just iDevice compatibility, either; they can easily be connected to other devices that support HDMI, VGA, and USB via the projectors’ built-in ports (although iDevice compatibility is definitely these projectors’ strong point).
You can expect the Epson MegaPlex projectors to be available for purchase by the end of this month.
