Elves. Always with the forbidden knowledge they have to protect so it’d not used to destroy their world. It’s a tough road, but thankfully we get to travel it for them thanks to Virtual Programming. The Mac game publisher has announced they’ve released the Mac version of Elven Legacy Collection, a turn-based strategy game that features two campaigns: elves and human.
The epic fantasy strategy game takes place in a world populated by five races—elves, orcs, humans, undead, and dwarves—vying for control. Players lead the elves or orcs in the single-player campaign or choose one of the five races when heading online for multiplayer combat.
The shadows of destruction begin to loom on the horizon once a human mage uncovers a dark and powerful secret dating back to the remote past of the Elven race. However, the Elves cannot allow this forbidden knowledge to fall into the hands of others and thus imperil the world.
For the first time in countless years, this ancient race must venture forth and interfere with events transpiring in the lands of man. With the renegade mage in their sights, the sorceress Gilwen and ranger-lord Seagate set off together, unaware that beliefs and friendships alike will soon be tested…
Players will embark on a magic-filled epic quest featuring over 100 types of units and five unique heroes. A powerful built-in game editor allows for the creation of new missions, while the multiplayer component offers 16 scenarios in which five playable factions vie for victory.
Elven Legacy Collection requires OS X v10.6.6, a 2.16GHz Intel processor, and 2GB RAM additional requirements, features and screen shots can be seen at the Virtual Programming website.
