Along with the introduction of a new version of Twitter for the web, the iPhone Twitter app was also updated. The new version of the iPhone app comes with a simplified design which, according to the Twitter blog, makes it easier to follow and connect with people, as well as discover something new. The app also now works faster and simpler than the previous version.
The app’s main navigation now consist of four major categories: Home, Connect, Discover, and Me. If you check out what these options offer, they are actually the functionality the app used to offer. Home is, of course, the main view containing updates of people you follow. The Connect option displays those who followed or mentioned you as well as people who retweeted or favorited your tweets. Discover is for discovering popular hashtags and trending topics and to get suggestions on who to follow on Twitter. Finally, the Me option contains your Twitter profile information, DMs, lists, saved searches and other settings.
Overall, the update is a pretty good one and definitely brings a new experience to Twitter on iPhone.
