Dungeon of the Damned. Sounds like a great place to visit in London, right? Maybe it is. But in this context, it’s a new iOS hybrid of classic point and click adventures and old-school grid-based dungeon crawlers. Released by Digi-Chain Games, Dungeon of the Damned 1.0 draws inspiration from classics of the genre such as “Dungeon Master” and “Eye of the Beholder,” featuring environment based puzzles utilising levers, pressure pads, portals and more.
In this atmospheric adventure game, players find themselves imprisoned in the legendary ‘Dungeon of the Damned’. The dungeon hides many secrets and players will be challenged with a variety of puzzle types as they strive to uncover the reason for their imprisonment and make their escape.
Designed exclusively for the mobile platform, ‘Dungeon of the Damned’ uses a simple control system perfectly suited for touch input. With a large emphasis on puzzle solving the game brings a fresh approach to this much under-represented gaming genre on the iphone.
The game features:
- Classic point and click adventure gameplay
- A fully explorable 3D dungeon
- Many items to collect and use
- Stunningly rendered graphics
- Atmospheric sound design and effects
Dungeon of the Damned is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4/4S and 3/4G iPod touch, and requires iOS 3.0 or later. It’s available now in the app store for $1.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies).
