Mimoco USB minifigsThere’s no denying that a major problem facing the U.S.A. is a lack of things you can buy that feature licensed representations of the intellectual property of major corporations. Fortunately, companies are working night and day to address this issue. To wit: Mimoco has announced that soon you’ll be able to tell the world that you, yes you, approve of the “Star Wars” and “Super Friends” by proudly displaying them as superdeformed figures on your USB drive.

And it’s about time!

From the Mimico blog:

Now, Mimoco, Inc. is thrilled to unveil a brand-new product line of fashionable personal data storage devices called MIMOMICRO™. The MIMOMICRO product line is a smaller, more versatile device and demonstrates the evolution of the MIMOBOT collection. Not only can MIMOMICRO be used as a USB flash drive with removable microSD memory cards, but it also functions as a microSD card reader to transport data between mobile phones, tablets, e-readers, digital cameras, and mp3 players to your computer. It makes sharing your data with the world that much faster and easier.

So you buy the drive, and put in your own micro USB card. The devices feature a flip-out plug design, which means you don’t have to worry about taking off the head and losing it, which might be nice for a Highlander set, but what do I know? Since they use a card rather than built-in flash memory, you can also use them as a micro USB card reader.

The DC Universe set includes “the trinity,” Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman. Hopes for a G’nort drive are, typically, crushed.

The Star Wars set has C3P-O (SEE THREE PEE OH), Yoda, the Millenium Falcon, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader.

The sets were just announced for 2012. No word yet on a more specific pricing and availability.
