We’ve got some juicy Leopard secrets to share. It turns out that Sun Microsystem’s CEO and President, Jonathan Schwartz, announced at a conference held earlier today that Apple is making ZFS the default file system in Leopard.
In Schwartz’s own words: “…you’ll see that Apple is announcing at their Worldwide Developer Conference that ZFS has become the file system in Mac OS X.” This makes sense because ZFS possesses many advantages over Journaled HFS+, Apple’s current file system.
This is perhaps one of the “Secret Features” that Steve Jobs was touting at WWDC last year. For the die-hard Apple fans, there’s just two more sleeps till the big day, so hang in there!
