Are you the type of person who enjoys movies? The movies people say you’re supposed to like? Good, because we’ve got a couple of Academy Awards apps to tell you about today. One is all about the Oscars themselves, the other is a movie-themed game to help you kill time until the Hollywood elite descend upon Hollywood and Highland for an evening of polite smiling and applauding.

Awards Hero Oscars EditionAppEzzy has released an update to their popular Academy Awards app, Awards Hero: Oscars Edition. Now with native support for the iPad, this comprehensive app takes a look at the 84th Annual Academy Awards nominees and lets users vote on their picks to win. You can also quickly create an Oscars Pool and compete with your friends.

Elsewhere, Prestige Entertainment Group announced the release of Name That Movie, their new comprehensive movie trivia game. Movie lovers test their film knowledge in all genres through five rounds of quizzes, and master seven “mini-games” to make their way to the top of the Leaderboards.
