Twitter for iOSTwitter’s iOS app has received an update, bringing it up to version 4.1. The new (free) update, available now on the App Store, restores the swiping shortcut in which users used to be able to swipe across a tweet in their timeline to access shortcuts for replying, retweeting, favoriting, sharing, and viewing a user’s profile. Also restored is the ability to copy and paste tweets and profiles by pressing and holding said items in order to bring up additional options.

Twitter for iOS will now also state whether someone is following you, verified badges are now included among profiles within the app, and users are now able to mark all of their direct messages as read by tapping the new checkmark in the lower right corner. These are just the most notable of the newest features, others including settings that allow font size to be altered, improved image quality within tweet details, and more.

This new update and all of its offerings are currently available on iOS alone, although the Twitter app for Android has also seen an update with similar features being added. Below is the full list of changes made only to the iOS Twitter app:

  • Swipe shortcut
  • Copy and paste for tweets and profiles
  • Press and hold actions on links in tweet details
  • Font size settings
  • Direct Message improvements
  • Confirmation alert for Find Friends
  • Improved startup time and general performance improvement
  • Improved image quality in tweet detail
  • Accessibility improvements
  • Profile shows whether a user follows you
  • Verified badges in people search results
  • New language: Turkish
  • Lots of other polish and bug fixes

Maybe you could tell me where has the “save search” function gone, and where are now hidden the favourited tweets. I use mainly the IPhone4 official inteface. Thanks a lot for those tips.

By the way do you know where is the search “save” function now? I have some useful searches I use for locating things quickly but I just cannot save anymore, by lack of this function. Any tip will be fine. Thanks in advance.
