Just one day after Apple’s WWDC keynote address, an iPhone web app has already been spotted in the wild. Called OneTrip, it is simply a shopping list. There is certainly a very iPhone-esque look to it, making it blend nicely into the device.
OneTrip requires Safari to run (obviously); it has been optimized to the iPhone’s screen resolution, and also needs Javascript to be enabled. To maintain your list items, a new feature allows data to be stored in a cookie. Despite being slightly limited, I’m actually starting to like this style of app development.
Of course, it’s hard to tell whether it will work until the iPhone actually ships, but it functions brilliantly in the beta version of Safari 3.0.
