Santa Rosa has arrived on the MacBook Pros, bringing along lots of goodies including faster processors, graphics cards and a new memory limit of 4GB. Now, I’m not sure why you’d need 4GB of RAM, but OWC (Other World Computing) has begun selling a 4GB memory package.
These are 2 sticks of 2GBs, each rated at PC5300 667MHz, and are perfectly suitable for the 3rd-Generation MacBook Pros. (OWC has also announced a 3GB package for the 2nd-Generation) As usual, they’re a fraction of the price Apple charges, although you have to install them yourself. Instructions available here.
