Wired News managed to obtain a developers preview of Leopard, reporting that it installed quickly without problems on a quad-core Mac Pro. The interface was apparently very slick and smooth, giving the desktop a “space-age gloss”. In addition, Wired also posted screenshots of the new iCal and three new screensavers: Arabesque, Retro and Spectrum.

Unfortunately, Apple Legal didn’t seem too pleased as it sent a cease and decease letter for the screenshots to be taken down. They’re off the site as we speak, but luckily for us, Google still has a copy of it cached. Apple seemed to have something important to hide, judging by its reaction to the posted screenshots.

Perhaps there are more secret features for us to look forward to?

  1. I'm not surprised that it loaded without problems on a quad-core Mac Pro — if anything had issues running on that I wouldn't know where to turn.

I question how Leopard will run on my single core macbook.
