Square renames its Card Case iOS app to Pay with Square

Pay with SquareSquare seems determined to get ahead in its competition with PayPal, who announced its PayPal Here Square competitor about a week ago. As such, Square has just updated its Card Case iOS app, renaming it to Pay with Square and adding some new features as well.

Along with the new name and entirely new user interface and icon (pictured at right), the Pay with Square app has now been given the ability to browse for local businesses that accept Square (and open a tab at them) and to add Square-accepting businesses to a list of favorites.

While that’s all that’s new for now, we can surely expect a lot more in the future as Square must keep up with PayPal Here, which will become its first competitor once it’s released. Pay with Square v2.0 is available for free on the App Store now.
