  1. Hello, my son already subscribes to the feed on the home computer, so he told me to enter this contest.

I deserve an iPhone because I am a hard working mother that has been stuck with a horrible razr for the past year, and have a son who would love to have one.

    Leslie Downey
  2. I need an iPhone because mobile mail should look good.

    Josh Pieper
  3. I deserve an iPhone because I believe everyone deserves an iPhone. In order for everyone to have an iPhone I would also have to have one so what better way to receive an iphone than to win one from Appletell!

    Aaron
  4. Hi, my son already subscribes to the feed on his computer and told me to enter this contest.

I deserve an iPhone because I have had to put up with days of nothing but the iPhone on the TV. Also, both I and my son are forced to share cell phones; a major inconvenience.

    Madhu Purohit
  5. I can't afford an iPhone. That's why I deserve an iPhone.

    Chris
  6. I should get the iPhone because I actually considered using my rent money to get one. Please don't make me homeless 'cause I feel an ungodly need to get this phone and I'm not sure if I trust myself.

    Jeff
  7. I deserve an I Phone because I know KT Thompson…clap, clap….clap, clap, clap. KT Thompson…clap, clap….clap, clap, clap.

    Mike
  8. I want one in order to finally have a hand held device that syncs correctly to my address book.

    Patrick Hughes
  9. I deserve and iPhone because:

    1. I can't afford to purchase and iPhone

    2. I would love to have the ability to keep everything in one device.

    and

    3. I would love to show it off to my friends and brag about how I won it…!!!

    Jeffrey Blais
  10. I deserve an iPhone because:

    1. I'm a broke college student

    2. I'm an AppleGeek (do a google search if you don't already read the comic)

    3. I would make Appletell my homepage so that whenever I showed someone the internet on my new iPhone Appletell would get free advertising.

    Chris
  11. Disaster Struck. I was at work, chilling with my iPod and the White Stripes, when I heard a faintly familiar clicking sound. At first I thought it came from my work laptop, but nothing can describe the gut-wrenching feeling of knowing that your fourth generation iPod, the celebratory relic of an 18th birthday and close buddy for three years, is dying. At home I franticly tried everything on the internet from using 'chkdsk' to dropping it to fix the hard drive heads, but nothing worked.

I had some cash saved up, and I figured I would get a shiny new iPhone, but sadly fate prevents me. Somebody took my room key and it cost $65 to replace. I then spent $50 on cleaning supplies because my housemates are more afraid of detergent than a dirty bathroom. My mail decided to rain hate upon me because some fancy new 'anti speeding drone' sent me a $200 ticket. It brought my bank account to its knees, especially since I can't afford an iPhone now. :(

Sadly, I was actually looking forward to getting one. Although people complain about how AJAX is the only SDK, I only think of it as a challenge. I had an awesome idea where anybody can download and install a relay server for AIM so they can iChat. (Not that there aren't 1,000,000 other web AIM clients, most aren't efficient and probably banned from ATT's network.)

I only hope my week could get better.

    Ryan Alyea
  12. I need an iPhone so I can use it as a coaster, and then eat it.

    Marc
  13. I need an iPhone because my calculator recently broke and I'm bad at doing math in my head.

    Zack
  14. I deserve an iPhone because it's too darn expensive for me to buy on my own!

    Jeff
  15. I've done some good things in my life, but to have that much Mac goodness and techno-magic-wizadry in my hand for free…

No one *deserves* that. But I would just about have a joy aneurysm if I was given one.

    Austin Flack
  16. It's not me that needs the iPhone, it's my laptop. My MacBook has been stubborn lately. I bought a palm phone and was really excited about it. I showed it to MB and he refused to import all my data. I searched the internet and MB wouldn't give me the answers to fix my lack of data on my device. So I decide buy a windows mobile phone instead. I heard they work better with third party software on Mac. I hooked it into MB and it hated it, along with third party software. I was confused on what I should do. I need my MB we are best friends. But MB seems to hate all phones and is taking it out on me. One day I came home from work and MB had defaced all of it's screen area. He had changed his background to a picture of this thing called the iPhone. MB even had an iPhone screensaver. Then the only news MB would show me for the last week was iPhone news. This iPhone looks great and it seems like MB would really like one. I just don't have enough money to buy him one. I just don't want to disappoint my best friend.

So Appletell help my MB out by getting him an iPhone.

    Jeremy Jones
  17. I don't deserve one, but I would love one. I have too many kids to be able to afford an iPhone.

    Ryan Kummer
  18. I deserve to win an iPhone because I am a poor college student…so poor I only had $27 in my checking account the last month of school and I had to pay the pizza guy in quarters on more than one occasion.

    Steven Owens
  19. I am walking around with a bulky antique monstrosity of a phone. People point and say, "Look at that dinosaur!" I desparately need an iPhone so I will be seen as mod and hip instead of last year's model.

    Joseph
  20. The iPhone is the pinnacle of innovation in the mobile phone sector. Currently, I'm years behind the forefront of the technological market with a four year old iPod, a four year old Blackberry 7100t, and no video playing device. The iPhone would help me to unify everything with one new, compact device and lighten the load I carry around every day.

Furthermore, the iPhone's great e-mail handling and GPS would help me conduct business on a daily basis. The phone perfectly combines entertainment and business and would be a terrific boon to my productivity both for work and for play.

Finally, I'd like to thank Appletell for this tremendous opportunity.

    Zach
  21. I really need a new phone, The piece of crap I have now is old, weak, and on it's last leg

    Allen Bivins
  22. I need a new phone because mine is 4 years old and does not ring anymore. I miss alot of calls:( Help me!!

    Tiffany G
  23. I don't really deserve an iPhone, but would not mind having one to use when I go to college this fall to keep in touch with family, friends, and employers. I have never owned a cell phone and this device would be the perfect phone to start off with. I really like the design and performance of this device.

    Rick
  24. I deserve an iPhone because I am running a 733mhz G4 and i need more power ! :P

    Sam
  25. I deserve an iPhone because I am a mother and a father. I work hard, all the time. And good people deserve a break!

    maria santos
  26. My oh so lovely Moto Razor broke in half and a iPhone would be more than great to replace it. I don't have money now for it, I will but by that time version 2.0 will be out.

    Felicita Espinosa
  27. I would really appreaciate an iPhone. Mostly because I am a new dad who is in the U.S. Air Force. I fly on cargo planes all over the world and don't make alot of money to begin with. The only way that I get to see my family is through emails and pictures. I am always away from home and its hard enough. So if I was fortunate enough to have such a cool phone to keep in touch with my loved ones, I could see them when I want.

    Bryan Laird
  28. Wow I Really need and deserve this so I can catch up to the real world. Just graduated college as a single parent (both my children in college too.) Just lost job and now with degree having trouble finding new one. Maybe if I went into an interview and flashed iPhone I would get hired (they would think I was high tech) pay off college loans and live happily ever after – Hey it could happen and iPhone is more than just video music and cell it is a statement

    joan olson
  29. I deserve an Iphone because I'm a critical care nurse and my husband is a fireman – one of us may save your life one day (or countless others). Don't we deserve something for that? :)

    Thanks for the great contest!

    Marianna Ballard
  30. I deserve an IPhone because I would like to make it a present to someone I know who is as gadget crazy as me, but also needs to impress her peers at work. She has a computer oriented job, and could really use the many functions. I would buy one for her if I could afford one.

    betty crawford
  31. I deserve a iPhone because I fought a horde of Time Travelers today who were bent on destroying the world of capitalism. The future has appearently been taken over by Krispy Kreme and Starbucks. They thought by coming to this time and bringing down our economy they could save themselves.
Saving 20 billion future lives or having my morning coffee and doughnut – there really was no choice. Sorry 'bout the future and all!

    Stacie McClellan
  32. I deserve an Iphone because I don't know what kind of phone I have. My phone calls people on it's own. Once it called my house phone twice at night. I felt like I was being stalked. I need a new phone today. My cell phone contract is up next year. I can't wait to get rid of my phone.

    mitra harris
  33. I need an iPhone to complete my plans of world domination. Seriously.

    Matt Sledge
  34. I deserve an Iphone because I just love gadgets like cellphones, computers, and anything electronic. I have not had a new cellphone in a long time more than 3years to be exact. I am currently in college and there nothing better than to have the latest gadget at my campus, because I am spending most of my money buying books. Therefore, I would love to have the Iphone.

    Blake
  35. I'm putting in my chance to win this awesome piece of technology. It is so beautiful.

    Karen G

  37. Since the death of my step-mother 10 months ago, money has been very tight or non-existent for me. As a broke college student all of my money goes towards food and school leaving no money to spend on myself. To make matters worse two months ago I had an emergency open appendectomy during finals week that cost me a paying summer job and nuked my grades. Since then I have been in and out of the hospital half a dozen times because of complications from the surgery. Yet for longer then the past 10 months I have been waiting and hoping for Apple to release a phone. After the price of the iPhone was announced however, I knew that I unfortunately was never going to lay hands on one. So as soon as I read that you were giving away an iPhone, I knew this was my only chance to get one. Thanks for the chance to win an iPhone Appletell, best of luck to everyone.

    Dylan M
  38. I'm a family man on a budget but i would love to have an iPhone. Help a dad out. Belated Fathers day present maybe?

    vmize
  39. I'm deserving of an iPhone since I was ill today and could not get out and get one at launch. Pretty lame, I know but maybe you'll grace me with an iPhone.

    Daniel Hamilton
  40. I would love to win this iphone to bring me into the modern age. I have never had a cell phone, I do not even know how to use one, when my friends hand me theirs. Both of my daughters have an ipid mini, but I have never had an ipod either. Winning the iphone would make me the "cool mom", with my girls.

    Alice Rogers
  41. I need an iPhone to complete my awesome power move.

    Neb
  42. I had been a hard core Apple techie ever since it came out on the Market. I had brought Apple Newton, iMac and even stickers. I really want to win this one because I really want to give it to my husband. Since he is a even more Apple Fan more than anyone I ever know!

    Jannet Kwan

  46. To be honest, I don't really know that I "deserve" an iPhone. I would however like to have one. Since I am currently paying tuition for both my wife and sister-in-law to attend nursing school though, so I can't really afford the expense of the hardware.

    Marc
  47. Good luck with the competition guys.

I don't deserve an iPhone because live in the UK, so there is not much point me winning one as I wouldn't be able to use it here as you need an AT&T contract.

  49. My phone is so old they don't even make it anymore. I had to look it up on the Sprint website under "old devices". Not making that up here it is: http://www.sprintpcs.com/pages/old_devices.html
it is a Samsung SCH-8500 (mine is black). Here is a picture (bottom of page right):
    http://www.cellpower.com/manufacturerindex.cfm/manufacturer/Samsung.html

It has a green screen and futuristic dot matrix technology, not seen since the days of the Commadore 64 or the Apple IIe

    Thanks for the contest.

    Andrea Ulrich
  50. I don't deserve one, but my wife sure as hell does.
She works 12 hours per day so that I can stay home with our kids. When she does get home she spends all her time with the kids and goes to all her activities. This device would really help her multi-task and free up some time.

    Andrew Gordon
  51. I would love an iphone, but the person who really deserves one is my husband. Five years ago he proposed a new public high school in one of the toughest neighborhoods in New York City. The proposal was accepted and a few days ago — after four years of indescribably hard work — they graduated their first seniors. About 80% of the kids graduated and another 4-5% should graduate in August. These are kids who entered 9th grade well-below level, many not speaking English, many from homes with significant family challenges. Most of the kids not only completed high school, but are now college bound. The school that previously existed in this neighborhood, serving this population, graduated 23% of students. So, try to imagine how much time and energy and love and tears he's put in as a teacher and assistant principal to make this possible. Many of the kids have told me that he's like a second father to them — but he is also an amazing dad to his own child, and a great husband.

He is a gadget geek and really wants this phone. I wanted to surprise him with it as a year-end gift, but even if I could get my hands on one, we can't afford it. He is truly deserving and I would be incredibly grateful if you would help me congratulate him for his hard work and success in making a difference for hundreds of kids who really needed it.

Thanks for this contest and your great site.

  52. I would love to have an iPhone to replace my unreliable Treo 700wx. Plus it might be the first step in making me an Apple lover…

    Jimmy
  53. I absolutely must have an iPhone. I spend all day at work watching video's about it. I spend all night at home reading websites about it. iPhone fever has CONSUMED my life, and until I get one, I don't think I can ever be a functioning adult. Please Appletell, help me be normal again.

    Tom
  54. I deserve an Iphone because so I can watch movies when working late hours….

    Sean
  55. If I won an iPhone, I would use it for everyday use such as talking on the phone, listening to music, and surfing the internet.

    Jason Growe
  56. I need an iPhone because I use a Blackberry in a Mac environment at work. Needless to say, Blackberry's interface on the Mac is basic. With a Mac and an Iphone, I'd be able to unlock the full potential of mobile phones and show the powers that be that if we are a Mac shop, then lets be an Apple shop!

    Peter
  57. I deserve an iphone because my current phone is the trs-80 of phones.

    jeff mayer
  58. For my contest submission, I made you guys picture using powerpoint just to prove how much I work.

  59. Well, I was one of those who was dead set on getting an iphone day one , but as life has it, it didn't work out that way. Turns out I have a little girl who wanted a puppy for her birthday this year and yes, her birthday is in June. So that money I had been saving for my new phone went on the newest member of our family a cute American Eskimo Puppy named Cotton. While I still long to hold that iphone I know in the long run waiting wasn't a bad idea, Now I can enter contests to win one : ) and I have a cute ball of fur to rubb for good luck as well. Good luck to all and hopes gen 2 will be out soon and reduced prices and more features!

    Charleen Matson

  62. I deserve a iPhone because i never win anything :( and i have been drooling over it for a long time :P

    Robin
  63. Hello,
I am a poor college student in two ways currently: 1. As with most college students, my money is currently tied up in paying for my school. 2. The only GSM carrier where I live (Montana) is not AT&T. We have no Apple stores here either. In order for me to get an iPhone, I would need to travel to Colorado or Idaho (the closest areas with coverage/stores and they are 800+ miles away from me). The iPhone will work here, but this poor college student does not want to travel a great distance and shell out the money for one.

    Jared
  64. I deserve one because I grew up in Iowa…

    Ryan Millsap
  65. I deserve one because I'm a grad student in philosophy and will never have a real job.

    Sim Palarny

    David Hemphill
  67. I deserve one because my middle name is "random drawing winner."

  68. Not including canada? what is this?
I hate all of these stupid online contests/giveaways where you completely shun off the rest of the world. Talk about reasons to hate the US…

    Internet = International
I'm pretty sure whoever won this would gladly pick up the shipping and handling fees.

Ya, I subscribed to your feed, and I've wanted an iPhone for a long time. Long time fan. Wanted a Wii many months before the release, and I only just got one. I just turned 18, and i'm going into engineering next year. This device is definitely a must-have for how busy i'm going to be in the next four years.
    -kindly, The Canadian

    Tom
  69. I like it because it so Vulcanian.

    Ilija Iliev
  70. i deserve an iphone because i need to upgrade from my really old ipod and my damaged phone

    Christian Anzuini
  71. I deserve the iPhone because I'm a felon with no job. No job will hire me because of my stupid ass not affording a lawyer to fight what I was not guilty of(I pleaded the guilty plea). My ex-wife (Who I married at age 17) cheated on me and we separated, weeks pass and the anger grew in me………I decided to steal her stuff which was already mine and got to go to jail for it. So as my life keeps bringing me down with no job and a cheap 1 ghz xp machine, its the only technology that has brought me hope…..One could always imagine what it could feel like to have the latest edge in technology….like the iPhone.

    Ivan Avalos
  72. I want to be the only person on Besboro with an iPhone.

Since I can't afford a replacement drive, I've been unable to burn CD's, amd I've been unable to listen to my music anywhere but home. To make matters worse, my girlfriend never lets me use the speakers since it interferes with her favorite reality show, Charm School.

    Nick G

    Thanks.

    Tim Verpoorten
  80. I deserve an iPhone because of my closeted obsession with it. As a die-hard Mac user and Apple fanatic, I praise the wonders of Apple to all my friends and family… though I always stress to never buy a first-generation product. Despite this decree, I secretly desire to have and to hold, now and forever, a 1st-gen iPhone. My strangely obsessive obsession deserves to be fulfilled. I know, I'm crazy…

    Robert
  81. Because.

    Jimmy
  82. I'm not sure that i do deserve an iPhone. I suppose it's this contest that will show me whether i do or not.

I leave it to you, cold hand of fate!

    HatAndSuitcase
  83. I'd love one and it would be even better if I won the iPhone 4GB model.

Actually, the primary reason I deserve an iPhone is simply because my wife wants one more then I do and she'll end up having me buy one for her. :)

    Thanks,

    Brian…

    Brian Sorli
  84. Being the mother of 5 children, I think the iphone would assist me greatly in teaching them about the integration of technology and multimedia. Also, I should mention that my husband wants to play with it too. :-)

    Lynn
  85. I was going to ask for the top of the line iPhone to help me in my work as a government employee, but when I read the request by the active duty Air Force guy who flies with the cargo and needs it to stay in touch with his family… I decided he really DESERVES this, where I'd just like to have it to help me be better organized. So give it to him.

    Cindi Moyer
  86. Why do I deserve an iPhone? Well, no one necessarily deserves one, and certainly no one deserves a free one. But I'd really really really really like a free one.

    Neil
  87. Hey,

I am so glad to hear people are helping us get iPhones! I deserve an iPhone because I went down to the launch and stood in line with my friend so he could buy one but don't have the money for one. I am stuck with my old phone with dying talk time. I get about 1 min of talk time and 5 hours of standby by with the battery, but I still have almost a year left on my contract if I wanted to get something for free. (I gave my free upgrade to my sister when her phone got stolen). So I need an iPhone!!

Thanks guys, keep up the good work.

    Lyle

    Lyle

    Bill
  93. It's actually my wife who deserves one. As the mother of two young kids, she doesn't get much grown-up fun, and she has a horrible Verizon phone that doesn't stay charged for more than 20 minutes.

    Bryan
  94. I don't really deserve on as I am only fourteen, but having a device that is beautifully designed to have e-mail, safari, a fancy "notes" app, YOUTUBE!, a sleek calculator, a map app, and so much more!…..Oh wait, IT'S A PHONE????!!! It'll will at least replace my old piece of crap and allow me to have an iPod as well.

    Nathan H.
  95. I deserve an Apple iPhone cause I have had to suffer using this crappy Motorola Razr for the last year and a half -thanks!

    Brendan
  96. I deserve an iPhone because I am a connection whore and I can't stand being disconnected from the world! And I have no money.

    Eric Vicenti
  97. I'm a poor college student whose old phone just snapped in half. My old iPod was also stolen from my car last thanksgiving. I need an iPhone!

    Andy Oneal
  98. Hey guys, love the site! I think I deserve an iPhone because I've been waiting for so long for a device that combines all the devices I use (cell phone, iPod, camera, etc.) into one easy-to-use device. The iPod really is my Holy Grail when it comes to an all-in-one mobile device. Also, I'd buy one for myself, but I'm getting married in a couple months so I'm saving up for that. Hope you'll consider me!

    Josh R. Holloway
  99. My son works with his high school's tech department. He works during his summer vacation helping maintain the school's website and works around the school helping teachers with computer problems and technical support.

Their department has made an amazing amount of progress in my opinion and in the past year they have been working with teachers to make podcasts for their classes. These teachers are provided with an iPod and recording equipment to make video and audio recordings of their lectures. They send them to the tech department where they are posted on the website for students to review on their own time. Even their school morning news show in on iTunes.

Their high school is predominately Mac based and they have only good things to say about Apple in general. If he wins this iPhone, that could be the first step to convince administrators how beneficial it would be for both them and teachers.

    Thanks.

    Dave Nelson

  109. I'd like to win an iPhone so I could give it to my sister in a rest home who needs both a mobile phone and internet access. I'll pay her monthly bill. She is mentally ill, but functional. Loves the internet but is in a place that has no wired or wireless internet access. The iPhone should work perfectly for her and she'd be able to make calls without using the pay phone down the hall.

    Stephen Harlow

  120. I deserve an iPhone because I've yet to own an Apple product! I've yet to experience the sweet, transcendent joy that is having a MacBook or an iPod…and I've been a Mac devotee for years! Fleeting flirtations with friends' devices are simply not enough. I must have a Jobs machine to call my own!

    Jason R. Wallace
  121. I've been wanting a well designed convergence device since I was very young. Currently, I cannot afford an iPhone. Even still, I waited in line on Friday for four and a half hours just to see and use the iPhone.

    Reva K.
  122. I would like an IPhone because I love Apple products…their design..everything…It simply looks beautiful and I would give it a good home, protect it and take care of it.

What makes one person more deserving than another? I am not sure. I am unable to purchase one because my wife will not allow me to. bottom line. Anyone with a significant other can appreciate this. No stories of misfortune or starving or anything.

Thanks Appletell for brining the Apple news…and for offering the IPhone!!

    Sal
  123. I deserve an iPhone because I'm special. ;)

I think I deserve this because I need a second
chance at taking care of my cellphones
last year I bought a palm treo 700p, but I wasnt as careful with it as I probably should've been but after only a week with my palm treo. I let my friend borrow it and forgetting that she had it I went inside and my mom yelled at me for not having it. So I asked her then went to my friend's house. then when I got there she handed me a cracked in two palm treo, since then I was not to be trusted with any other cell phone that wasnt free. So please I dont wanna turn 18 before I get one

  130. Hey Appletell–
Pretty cool you're having this here contest. I deserve an iPhone because I'm at a computer crossroads in my life. After years of doing audio/video work on my PC with much frustration, I finally decided to make the switch to a Mac. But so far all the Apple gear I've owned has been expensive and had several problems. So a free iPhone would rejuvenate my Mac love, plus replace my faulty Palm Treo. Plus, as a busy performer/singer-songwriter, a free & working app phone would be a gift from the Appletell gods. Also, I'd trade you some of my cds and advertising for the free iPhone!!?!
    c'mon Appletell…whaddya say?

  132. I need to use the iPhone as a phallic symbol of my manhood. I will hide it in my pocket and wait for others to stare at my "bulge." When they do, I’ll double point to my loins and say that my "puppy" is so smart that it can call phones, play music and video, check email and a ton more cool things. When they are effectively
confused and strangely interested, I will whip it out and say "HA!" They can then marvel at its magnificence.

    L.K
  133. I deserve an iPhone.

I've saved the country from terrorists in covert CIA missions. I've fed starving African babies bringing thousands from the brink of starvation. I've ended three wars on three continents with my mere presence. I've done this all without a iPhone. Think. Just THINK what I could do WITH a iPhone!

Seriously, I need to get with the times. I am a cash-strapped technogeek who is tortured by all the new technology that I read about, but cannot afford. Ooh…its horrendous. End my pain and suffering, please.

    Lei
  134. I deserve an iPhone because I am a gadget junkie. An iPhone would satisfy my need for the latest & greatest tech gadget…until the next Apple launch! :-)

  140. Friday the 13th? Why? WHY?!?!? The iPhone shall never be mine. ;)

As for why? It'd make that Friday 13th a little bit better than it usually ends up being, for me at any rate. ;) With an iPhone, I'd kick some stomping crazy ass, show it off to the point of boredom and make sure everyone knew I had one, aside from doing a series of reviews on my blog and (naturally) Appletell.

    David Wilkinson
  141. I would like an iphone please.

    Pete
  142. I deserve this iPhone because my kids would think I am the coolest mom ever.

    Marci Nigro
  143. I am a single mother with two children working minimum wage. My cellphone is no longer working and I can't afford a new one. If I won the Iphone I wouldn't have to worry about spending a ton of money that I don't have on a new phone and I would be able to get a lot more done. My father passed away recently and I would love to have him back more than anything. I found out that he left me enough money to pay off some bills and loans that were piling up and before then i didn't know what I was going to do. I really hope to hear from you next week, this would be a load off of my shoulders. Thank You

    Yvette Dukes
  144. Winning the Apple Iphone would be wonderful because I am a hard working single mother who's cellphone recently died. I happen to have at&t which is a nice coincidence, but they wouldn't replace my old phone and I certainly can't afford to purchase a new one. If I won this contest I wouldn't have to worry about spending a load of money I don't have on a phone that i could actually do work on. Thanks for giving this opportunity and hopefully I'll be hearing from you next week.

    Lillie Dukes
  145. I wish to be a part of the change I want to see in the world. The experience one has with the amazing iPhone technology is best described as magical. At last there is a device which offers tremendous functionality as well as extreme ease of use making mundane tasks effortless and actually fun. My young kids too are ready to lead the charge in broadening awareness. They were hooked the moment they touched the demo in the AT&T store.
Having an iPhone would fulfill several dreams of this household.

    Marshall
  146. Sell the phone and donate the money to a worthy charity or school. No one deserves anything but a swift kick back to reality, especially the self titled "Connection Whore". Science H. Logic it's just a PHONE!

  147. I think I deserve this iPhone because I tryed to wait in line at the premier of the iPhone but being a dad..with a child. My daughter couldn't stand there long enough for us to even get in the store. It was a bummer. But since I didn't get in myself I think winning it on here would be just as good. Also I'll still get to keep my techno, buy every electronic thing that comes out, geek dad reputation.

and I did subscribe, so even if I lose I'll still get to learn tips and tricks, new info, and surprising things about the iPhone

    Jonas
  148. I deserve an iPhone because Verizon screwed me out of $300 that I was going to use to buy one. I've been fighting for my money, which they wrongfully took, but to no avail. And it doesn't help that the iPhone sure is beautiful.

    Alexander Obenauer
  149. I deserve an Iphone because i still own a bag phone. It doesnt work, but I still own one! Not only that, look at my name. Is that not the name of a person you would expect to have the latest and the greatest technology?

of Haruka's struggle to learn English conversation at the university in California where she continues to confront the complexities of the English language and English conversation in an unfamiliar country.

  153. I can see here that there are truly many, many worthy winners posting on these boards, probably the most unaltristic, selfless and humble individuals the world has ever encountered. Reading some of these entertaining and astounding stories, the reasons and descriptions are truly heart-warming testament to the human spirit.

Tales of great hardship, poverty, misfortune and even people overcoming great personal adversity just to post on this very thread, in the faint hope a small consumer electronic device will be enough to make a difference, turn things around.

    I feel just by reading the stories, I was doing my bit to say to them, I’m saying ;

“Hey there little guy! So sorry to hear of your plight, but it's not that bad, there is hope, I'm here to listen and read your heartfelt comments'!”

I just hope this small beacon of light will enable you all feel that little bit better. There is someone thinking of each and every one of you, reading your comments, as they browse this forum on the iPhone you didn't win.

    Mr Angry
  154. It looks cool especially a nice widescreen. I bet that it is light and easy to carry around with the iPhone. If I get this iPhone, it would save me some money so that I would able to pay the service monthly fee.

If I win this prize, I would like thank you very much.

    Jeff
  155. I love you people.

  156. I work at a great little public clinic that puts up with my geeky projects moving it into the 20th century (that's right, the 20th century). We could use an iphone to send text messages to the doctor or nurse practitioner: "You have 5 patients waiting, so get a move on." We could page specialists to the iphone number so they reach the doctor directly instead of waiting forever for us to find what room the doctor is in.
We could use an iphone to communicate with patients via text/IM–we're a teen clinic, and the teens all text message and IM and chat. Right now we use email and get back to them when we can because noone is sitting at their desk with an open chat window–we're all running around taking care of patients. The iphone would let us thread all our IM so we wouldn't get patients mixed up. It would also let us choose which voicemails to check during a busy clinic day.
The doctor or nurse could use the iphone to dictate their notes, and then have them transcribed into the computer. Drug reference information and medical reference text, including photos (very important for those obscure rashes) could be kept on the iphone.
We could take photos with the iphone of rashes or other physicial findings for the dermatologist/specialist.
No, the public health department will not buy us iphones. Or even walkie talkies. Otherwise, would I be adding my pipe-dream comments?

    Teen Clinic Nerd
  157. Hey guys. I was thinking of a reason for getting an iPhone. But I really can't think of one why I deserve it more than these other people do. I mean I can live with my d807. Of course I wouldn't mind an iPhone. But nothing real special about me. =/ Just meh, whoever deserves it will get it, right? =]

    Dim
  158. This is my comment in hopes of getting my hands on the newest and most innovative pieces of technology I've ever seen, the iPhone!

    Derek Fernholz
  159. Why should I get the iPhone? First, I graduated a few months ago and just started a new job in Telecommunications Public Relations. I'm going to need a Blackberry or something like that for email on the go, and I want to do it with style.

My iPod has "gone missing" (read stolen).

My current phone has decided it now has the power to choose when I need to hang up and shuts off on its own.

And in the "keeping up with the Joneses" mentality, my future brother-in-law has one and, well, I want to be able to have that connection with him. He's always had the latest and greatest and for once I'd like to have it too.

Finally, why don't I just buy one myself? I've been helping my girlfriend get through college, I just finished school myself and I'm paying the deposit on a house for me, her and my current roomates. I'm broke. I can't afford the $500 tag.

It's been a long four years for me. I want something to boost my outlook and get me going. That's why I think I should be considered for the iPhone. Oh, and with a site as cool as Appletell, how could you not give it to a guy as cool as me?!

    Andy
  160. I deserve an Apple iPhone because Amp'd Mobile (my current carrier) just sucks eggs :P

It looks like crap and is extremely outdated. I have also been wanting an ipod nano but i got wait until i get some money. But if i got an iPhone i would be set. My life would be so much more colorful and i wouldnt be as touchy hehe….But please choose me as the winner i really need and want. I would be so thankful

My mother is a survivor of domestic violence. He is now deceased and we no longer have to live in fear. I am 23 yrs old, he died when I was 9yrs old.I lived in fear from the point of my arrival to the age of seven.

By providing a family with outside access, they are given a voice. Violence shouldn't be bestowed unto anyone. We are each given a voice and it should not be stripped away by anyone, including my father.
If you know someone who is a victim of domestic violence, please report them.

  174. I have spent most of my summer vacation looking and hopping to get a apple iphone. I have even gone to the extent of printing out a paper model a iphone and flashing it around in public. I recently got a mac because my other dell computer was so out of date that the geek squad guy told me it would have to be replaced. Apple had a great student discount so saved up and got a macbook and its great. I fell in love with the operating system. When i caught word that apple was coming out with a phone I quickly started to save up money but they were to expensive for me. So I guess I’ll have to stick with my paper iphone… unless they come out with a slightly smaller, slightly cheaper… iphone nano.

  175. As an elementary teacher for the past 11 years, I find that students have a good grasp of present technologies (IM, chat, internet) as many times they bring them right into the classroom :-) . Yet, most students don't quite understand how to efficiently utilize these technologies for their own educational benefit. My classroom use of the iPhone (we have a Mac-based school) could foster student interest in the development of podcasts, video podcasts, and other projects which combine the iPhone's capabilities with the required curriculum. In addition to just myself…….the iPhone would benefit many.

  176. As an elementary teacher for the past 11 years, I find that my students have a good grasp of present-day technologies (e.g. IM, chat, internet, etc.). Unfortunately, most fail to efficiently utilize these technologies for their own educational benefit. In-class use of an iPhone would demonstrate to students the seemless integration of technology this device offers while also fostering in them a desire to know more. Not only is there a high “Wow” factor to which students would be attracted, but this integration of technology and curriculum would assist students in their educational pursuits. This one iPhone would be for the benefit of the many…..not just the one.

  184. I would love to be cutting edge for a few minutes. I was disabled when my son was 3 months old. I am a stay-at-home dad with a relationship that I never would have developed in a million years unless my life becam restricted in this way. I wouldn't give up my relationship with my little man for all the tea in China, but a few toys now & then sure would be nice. Especially for a geek wannabe like me.

    Louis Scott
  185. I would donate my Nokia phone to the Women Are Dreamers Too(WADT.org).Which helps empower women who have gone through domestic violece.By providing assistance, financial support and a lifeline to the outside world.

My mother is a survivor, there were times when I would see my father beat her and leave the house knowing she didn't have a way of contacting anyone. We were on welfare, lived in a housing project in Gary, IN and unfortuanelty didn't own a phone. It was his way of controling us.

I knew how to dial 911 from the age of two. Now that I think about it, I should have told a neighbor, teacher or friend.I was six when the incident happened. I couldn't repress it any longer, as I had done before. It was all too vivid and I wanted to protect her.

The abuse took place before my birth up until the age of seven. But I was taught that family business was personal and shouldn't be blabbed to anyone. That is not true if pain is being afflicted, and if we are the victim(s).

No child should have to suffer seeing this cruelty. She suffered silently and didn't know who to call or who to turn to. All we had were each other.

If a phone was available in our house at the time, whether a landline or celluar, I could have put him in jail for what he did to the both of us. Children do not ask to be apart of domestic violence, nor should it be a choice to live in silence.

One day my mother decided she had had enough and packed our suitcases we owned and left Indiana for Minnesota. It was a 9hr trip, with me crapped in the back of a geo metro. But it was better then being crapped in a closet in fear of him turning his outward rage into a riot. It was the best decision she every made.

I am now 23 years old and my father is now deceased,he can no longer hurt her emotionally or physically.I have never respected his choice. I loved him a odd way(a coldness),I felt relief & sadness at his funeral b/c the beatings would be no more and in the end I also lost my father.

    I want to help a a child or children protect their mother(s), sister(s), and/or brother(s)…
So that they may have the choice to protect those that they love.

If you know someone who is a victim of domestic violence. Please, I beg of you report them. We are a given a voice.

Thank you for listening to my story.

  186. My wife and I don't have any cellphones at all. I suppose most others here are wanting to replace an existing phone, or want a cool new toy, but we'd really just like an opportunity to have a phone at all. We have a 16-mo old son, and another boy on the way (September!), and we've really struggled being apart with each pregnancy, worrying and knowing that we can't really reach each other if a problem or something comes up. I'm a stay-at-home dad, and my wife works her butt off. It would be something really nice to have even if it wasn't an actual iPhone.
Thanks for your consideration, and here's to hoping we're that lucky random winner. :)

  201. I deserve an iPhone because I sold my Macbook to buy my wife a new camera… and now I miss my Apple.

That and Windows Mobile is driving me nuts.

  202. I've been looking at cell phones since I was working in an electronics store in 1999, way back then they were big plastic bricks with six inch antennas.

A couple years later I remember the first Motorola flip phones which were the first ones to resemble Captain Kirk's communicator. And I remember Sony coming out with the super slim model (which was still huge by today's standards) and it was a whopping $1500.

Phones got color screens, email, cameras, web access. The got smaller, better looking, and cheaper. But I have never owned one. The reason is, I've never *ever* seen one I liked. Heck, when I borrow a friend's cell phone to make a quick call I can hardly figure out how the thing works.

I'm a Mac guy and I like simple, well thought out, innovative designs. I love the Apple design process which reduces the design to the point where the result seems obvious.

After 18 years of observing and evaluating, the iPhone is simply the only cell phone I have ever seen that I actually would like to own and use.

    Thanks,

    Stephen

PS. I subscribed to your feed and will check it daily. Great web site.

  203. I deserve and I phone because i'm a poor college student who has an awful razr, and cannot afford the iphone :(

    Matt
  204. i would love an iphone because i want to fell the pleasure on just holding one in my palms, just feel it's beauty and slickness. i want to feel the same way Americans do when they waited a whole week on that line just to have the first iphone. that feeling of iphone glory rushing through my vains so i can shout & scream yes i have and iphone. this towering form of technology will give me and insight of the future unlike my Siemens A75. its like the iphone will finally set me free into the real world but to do that i will need one. PLz consider me. Thank You.

  205. Its kinda like the old saying, If your name isnt in the hat, they want know your interested. You know, you can be the smartest man in the world, but if you dont speak up
    nobody will ever know !

    Rick
  206. Simple.I just wanna to hack it for using in China……

    ???
  207. I deserve an iphone because I believe iphone is a marvel and a true piece of art. I am the best candidate for the task of fully appreciating and valuing the phenomenon that is iphone.

    Gerardo Guzman
  208. I deserve an iPhone because I am a theatre major who is spending her summer working full-time as a tech support consultant at my large University.

Do you know how soul-crushing it can be to not only work in a field that despite being good at, is not your passion in life? Not to mention the fact that being a tech support consultant is essentially being a whipping-boy for everyone who can't/won't/doesn't care to use their computer correctly.

I'm not complaining, I mean, I make decent money. But not enough for an iPhone. And if I had an iPhone, I would tell everyone I bought it with the money I made working here, so that I would become a tech support legend (the theatre major who worked so hard she got an iphone)

  209. i want one

  210. The iPhone haunts me in my dreams. The only way it will leave me alone, is if I have one for myself. Please stop this cycle of sleepless nights, pain and suffering. Only you can do it.

    Erin
  211. I've been a MacJunkie since day one, when I bought the first Mac. I still have it and it still runs beautifully. I'd LOVE to be able to have this iPhone.

    jack
  212. I deserve an iPhone because I'm not gonna post a sob story. Frankly, they're just so damn cool, and I'm an Apple geek.

    Nick Danforth
  213. I just really want an iPhone!

    Daniel Williams
  214. i dont deserve the iPhone. no one on here does. but i do really want it. I am about to go with my band on tour across the US. and i need a new phone to watch videos and browse the web, cause its basically a month of driving.

  215. My stalwart 3-year-old Nokia died finally, prompting search for replacement. I've been going from used phone to used phone, trying to live some semblance of a normal cellular life. Most phones I've tried have been awful, and hard to use (I'm looking at you Moto SLVR!) I need that iPhone because I need a phone that works dammit! I want to swoop into meetings on time because I set three alarms and used Google Maps to find the quickest route. I want to wow my friends and loved ones by flicking through treasured memories on a 480×320 resolution screen! I wanna jam to my tunes, set up a conference call, and browse the web from the palm of my hand! I'm ready for a smarter phone- that phone is iPhone.

    Nick Snyder
  216. I have always been a Mac consumer, from the old Apple 2 and and The Newton, to more recently the Cube and Macbook. As a matter of fact, my whole family are Mac users. I hope to win the iPhone to add to our ever growing collection!

    Zack
  217. I have read many of the previous comments and some of them sound very worthy and deserving of a new iPhone. I'd like to throw my request in the ring as well. I'm an Apple evangelist but I haven't been able to afford any new toys lately. I'm currently trying to pay off a very large amount of medical bills from a partial kidney failure last year. I'm not desperate and could probably afford the monthly AT&T fee. I finally convinced myself I didn't want one, knowing I couldn't afford the cost upfront but after playing with them at the Apple Store with my three kids I really would like one. I currently do not own a cell phone. Thanks for the consideration.

  218. I believe I deserve an apple iPhone because I dedicate all my technical knowledge to the community and the elderly. I have been keeping up with technology, learning experiencing, fixing consulting, teaching everything I know to those who know not about technology. I normally don't even charge to do computer repair in my area because the people I am helping already great members of the community. I excel at teaching the elderly, as I am patient, and can relate with just about anybody. Normally I don't think I would need an iPhone, but having one and using it, I can offer great insight to those who are looking at new technological purchases… my current phone is also old and outdated anyway.

  219. I am a huge Microsoft fan. I have 3 computers running, Windows Vsita Ultimate x64, Vista Home Premium, and XP Pro. I'm a 19 year old semi-poor college student. A free iPhone would definetly lead to my banishment of Microsoft and turn me from a MSFanboy to an Apple Love Child.

    Daniel Torres
  220. I don't really deserve one. I don't think anyone really does. I love the features though and I'd love to be able to have my music and videos on the go. Also, having a decent phone would be nice. (Mine is horrible…)

Maybe a late entry could win it…

    Nathan H.
  221. I deserve an iphone because I still make tapes off of the radio.

    *fingers crossed*

    Lauren
  222. I love Apple. I guess I deserve one because it will help sort out my life during my freshman year.

Also, it might help a Mac Nerd get some ladies….

    Nathan H.
  223. Umm. I'd love an iPhone. I don't deserve it at all. It's too awesome. But, hey….who wouldn't take a free iPhone…?

    Nathan H.
  224. Ever since the iPhone was announced I've been entering contests to win. I figure I have just as much chance as anyone in a random drawing.

I'd love to get an iPhone to have my electronic life in my pocket. And I'd been eternally in debt to Appletell…

    Nathan H.
  225. I believe I deserve one because my old phone barely gets service and I currently don't have a way to listen to music on the go. I also believe the screen is beautiful and I love to have one on my own.

    Nathan H.
  226. Once again I deserve one because I can finally have a decent iPod and internet in my pocket.

    Nathan H.
  227. to be my portable little gadget to multitask

    L. WONG
  228. I deserve an IPhone because I am a poor student with no job trying to survive in the ghetto of Oakland, Ca.

    Garrison
  229. I deserve an iphone because I love apple. Ever since I switched, I have been happier that my macbook hasn't crashed like my old windows laptop would. Its so nice and sleek, gives me shivers just thinking i could call it mine.

  230. DESERVANCE

If I were to think back on my life and ask myself whether or not I deserve an Apple iPhone, I would also come to find the disapproving words of my sub-conscience gripping me from somewhere deep down within the pit of my belly, determinedly stating otherwise.

Yes, life is a hard pill to swallow sometimes. It can also be painful to the point of feeling like some huge thing irremovably wedged inside my throat, a thing which simple remedies cannot make disappear. In the midst of this discomfort, however, coherent thoughts continue to exist. Such thoughts are what led me to realize that instinct and common sense are just two things which make humans take most of their medication with liquids. Liquids are meant to make swallowing pills a much easier task, but what about the displeasing flavor?

Bitterness is often effaced by something sugary or pleasant tasting. This is why some people prefer taking their capsulated medicine with juice, sodas, coffee, and etcetera.

Life, sadly enough, is not this simple and rudimentary. The amount of fluids one takes in over the years appears like a black, microscopic speck against a vast backdrop of white. It is insignificant because life cannot be taken with just a swig of water, juice, or even a caffeinated beverage. It is not a commonplace pill; therefore, a lot more effort is required for it to go down. In addition, its bitter taste cannot be sugar-coated by things of material worth such as laptops, furniture, houses, money, and even mobile phones.

I will admit that I am guilty of having previously believed that material items were what made the “world go round.” Though, as the years accumulated, I began to see life from a new and different perspective. There is nothing wrong with finally being able to get that special something that you have always wanted, such as a DVD, a stereo system, a piece of jewelry, clothes, a pair of shoes, a set of furniture, and so on. Yet, when you expect for that special something to change your life, it might do so to a certain extent, just not COMPLETELY.

People who see a person with everything are quick to judge wholly by face-value and rashly assess that he is incredibly happy and overjoyed. But what if that person is actually a lonely and downtrodden individual, unable to think of himself no more highly than he thinks of inanimate objects? What if, no matter how much stuff he buys, he is unable to overcome the excruciating realization that he is just a lonely, discontent human being with everything and yet nothing?

See. An iPhone cannot possibly alter the way this person sees himself. This also goes for things such as money, social statuses, and store-bought items.

Living life does not necessarily mean that I “deserve” the Apple iPhone. I am expected to live it, despite its ups and downs, sideway turns, and hairpin curves. However, I am a human being with desires, wants, and needs, some basic and others not-so-basic. Although I want an iPhone, I do not expect for it to change my life entirely. I want it simply because I want it, a black-and-white concept with maybe a little grayscale in betwixt. Though, if I were to explain why I “deserve” an Apple iPhone, I would more than likely say that it is because I am a devoted geek who manages her time on occasion to deeply immerse herself in piles among piles of gadget-research. Admiring technology and soaking in information regarding their inner-workings has been a special hobby of mine for years. So, I ask you, who better to be trusted with this piece of intricate machinery than a person who can truly care for it and possibly even bring out its true potential?

In conclusion, I am very aware that my reply to the contest question seems verbose and drawn out. Still, I wrote it, not to impress those giving the contest, but to make certain people come to terms with the fact that expelling sad, tear-jerking life-stories does not automatically bestow you with infinite eligibility. Such stories do not exist so that you can use them later on as instruments to fulfill your materialistic natures. They exist because life exists. Life is a tangled web of occurrences, some bad, others good. One phone will not disprove this fact. Life is life. Easy-hard. Bad-good.

“‘Tis life,” a famous person once said.

    ‘Tis life indeed.

END NOTE: Thanks for hearing me out!

  231. I love the intelligent, beautifully designed UI of the iPhone. Not only does it makes calls, browse the internet, and function as an iPod extremely well, it sets a new standard in mobile computing. I am confident that if I win this device, I would get a ton of daily use out of it. I would love to be able to access mobile email, contacts, and calendar items right on my mobile with full web-browsing capacity. I figure it’s worth a shot. Cheers!

  233. My wife and I really want iPhones bad…but our old XP machine is on its last leg and we are going to put our money toward a 24" iMac first…then work on iPhones. But, my wife's crappy old RAZR is driving her nuts..I sure would love to get her an iPhone now (I will wait for mine). Thanks!
