It looks like AT&T didn’t know what they were getting themselves into with the iPhone. Despite bumping the speed of the EDGE network on the eve of the iPhone launch, iPhone users from across the country have been reporting that the EDGE network which powers the iPhone’s data service has been down for the second half of Monday.
While iPhone users can continue to use Wi-Fi when available, this will prevent iPhone users from checking their email and browsing the internet while on the road. With AT&T dropping the ball on the data service so early in the game, one could only help but wonder if they can keep up to the rate in which Apple is selling the iPhones.
Maybe AT&T should put a press release asking iPhone users to calm down on the YouTube vids?
