Care for another tower defense game to while away time on your iPhone or iPod Touch? Check out Kingdom Rush, an action fantasy defense game which made waves when it was released for the iPad not so long ago. This time around, the same epic journey comes to your iPhone or iPod Touch. Defend your kingdom against those evil orcs, trolls, wizards and other enemies with your arsenal of towers and spells. Question is, can Kingdom Rush repeat its success on the smaller screen of the iPhone or iPod Touch, the same way that fans have enjoyed it on the iPad?
What is it?
Kingdom Rush is an fantasy-themed tower defense game that will surely please iPhone or iPod Touch gamers who enjoy stunning and colorful visuals mixed with satisfying and challenging gameplay. The game features intuitive touch controls that will keep you focused on constructing your towers and upgrading them as well. It allows you to build towers in pre-determined locations along the path the enemies will take as they try to invade your dominions. Along the way, make use of upgrades and tweaks to successfully defend your towers.
How does it work?
While other tower defense games start off rather slowly, Kingdom Rush takes you into the action as soon as you hit the play button. The good thing here is that the challenges are initially way too easy. They become rather difficult, but are manageable and if you’re use to these kind of games.
So, you start off with a pre-determined location on the map. Tap on it to get the details of the campaign, and then off to battle you go.
Don’t worry if this is the first time you’re playing the game, there are instructions on how you can start off. You’ll also be guided on which location to start building your tower. Speaking of which, you can either build an archer tower, train your army, build a tower for your magicians or build a tower which will bombard your enemies as they pass along. Along the way, you’ll also get to unlock the ability to summon troops to reinforce your existing troops.
Is it contagious?
I’ve always believed tower defense games must have one essential element to succeed: it must be addictive enough to sustain both the hard-core gamers and casual gamers’ interests. Kingdom Rush has this element. And for that, I can say that this game is dangerous for you.
If you don’t have too much time to spare, make sure to find it. Kingdom Rush will get you hooked the moment you play it and will keep you playing until the very end.
