Monster’s Clarity HD Model One had me thinking back to party night at church camp, and the sound system that was required to fill an outdoor pavilion. Those speakers were towers, and there were stacks of LPs or CDs in milk crates surrounding them. The relatively tiny Clarity HD Model One may have been able to out-power those rigs, and all from a tiny little iPod.

Macworld | iWorld 2012 has come and gone, just like that. Three days are barely enough to take a close look at all the new apps, gadgets, software and hardware that vendors were happy to show off, but it was enough time for the Appletell team to put together our list of favorite products from the show floor. This year, it’s an iPhone camera accessory, a home control system and one developer’s entire lineup.

Apple offers numerous ways to shoot video from your iPhone or iPod touch directly to your TV or monitor…provided you have the right models. iHome just loves to get people up and at ‘em in the morning, and they’ve got a new lineup of alarm clock speaker systems at CES 2012. The iW4 AirPlay Wireless 20 Watts Bedside Speaker System, iP18 LED Color Changing Dual Alarm Clock Speaker System and iD50 App-Enhanced Bluetooth Alarm Clock Radio Speakerphone won’t be available until later this year, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth a look now.

Apple’s iDevices are great for sharing videos and music, but not so great for actually listening to them. Sharing headphones is no fun, and the built-in speakers don’t really compensate for any external noise that may interfere. That’s where Satechi’s new BT Portable Speaker comes in. Target continues to be wildly inaccurate in their sale labeling, but we won’t complain too much when the deals include Apple products and third-party accessories. Their “Very Last-Minute” Holiday Deals ad is five or six days too soon, but you won’t want to wait too much longer to get all the gift cards their offering for iPods, headphones, and more.

chicBuds knows quite a bit about fashionable accessories, as it’s pretty much their modus operandi. Their products don’t just complement your fashion sense, they can become your fashion sense. The Fauvette Speaker is no exception. The little bird is easy to drop into a purse or bag, and to then place on a desk or even hold in your hand when listening. But does it get good sound?

It’s a bit too early to be launching “last minute” holiday deals, but that won’t prevent us from letting you know what Target has going on…especially when so many of them are centered around Apple’s iDevices. There’s also Target’s Electronics Trade-In service to consider. Used iPhones, iPads, iPods, Nintendo DS units, cellphones, video games, calculators and DVDs can be traded in for credit good for most Target purchases.

The upsides of the iKurv are that it is a fairly stylish place to charge your iDevice and listen to your tunes while you charge up; the sound is descent and the blue light lends an interesting accent (except for you blue haters…). The remote is very handy and functions well, and the iKurv doesn’t take up a lot of space. The down sides are that the audio is clean but only okay, the volume control could use some more finesse when you turn it down, and you need to be sure you have the correct adapter tray or you may have trouble with the connection.

The savings on Apple products were accurately slight, but as in years past, Apple is offering significant savings on compatible third-party products.
