UltraFit3000-WhiteOrange-white1

At Macworld | iWorld 2012, there were speakers for every taste and budget, headphones for active lifestyles, and even a few apps designed to work with your music library and listening setup to enhance the listening experience. Here is our roundup of some of the best audio products demonstrated by several companies.

CES 2012: Moshi’s Clarus earphones offer “warm analog listening experience”

Moshi Clarus earphones

There’s no shortage of new headphones being announced CES this week, and Moshi is one of the latest to serve up their take on sound with the Clarus earphones addition to the Moshio Audio line. The unique two way DynaDuo™ driver of the Clarus model provides a warm analog listening experience versus the clinical sonic signature of the more common balanced armature drivers.

Harman to display AKG noise canceling headphones at CES 2012

AKG K 495 NC

We continue to tout the benefits of quality headphones here at Appletell, and a good place to go for quality is Harman International. A good place to see their latest offerings is CES 2012, where they’ll be showing off two new AKG active noise-cancelling headphones. The technologies in the AKG K 490 NC and AKG K 495 NC are powered via USB so these headphones don’t require batteries like other models; just plug them right into your laptop or other available USB port and you’re ready to go.

NuForce announces budget-conscious earphones

NuForce NE-600x

Did you get a new iPod touch for the holidays? Maybe you’re just tired of the old Apple earbuds that came with your iPod Classic. Fair enough. We grew tired of them, too, and have always recommended upgrading. Starting next week, NuForce will offer two new options that’ll improve your iDevice audio reproduction without breaking the bank.

Review: JayBird Freedom Bluetooth Headphones

JF3-01-3001

Cutting the cord; it’s what we runners would love to do. Running with headphones can be a huge pain thanks to that thin wire that just refuses to stay out of the way. The obvious solution to this problem is having tunes pumped straight into your brain, but Bluetooth headphones are the most acceptable compromise to date. JayBirds has a few different styles of bluetooth headphones for your wireless pleasure. I took at look at their Freedom headphones to see if they are the solution to my workout woes.

“Very last minute” Apple deals at Target

target-lastminute1

Target continues to be wildly inaccurate in their sale labeling, but we won’t complain too much when the deals include Apple products and third-party accessories. Their “Very Last-Minute” Holiday Deals ad is five or six days too soon, but you won’t want to wait too much longer to get all the gift cards their offering for iPods, headphones, and more.

Apple announces Black Friday 2011 specials

We’ve seen a few leaks this week on Apple’s annual one-day-only Black Friday sales event. The savings on Apple products were accurately slight, but as in years past, Apple is offering significant savings on compatible third-party products. Save over $100 on Bowers & Wilkins speaker docks and various laptop bags, and you can get fun accessories like the Parrot AR.Drone for under $250.00.

V-MODA Vibrato in-ear headphones review

These are not high-end headphones with big drivers and fluffy cushions; the Vibrato are earbuds, but they offer a greatly improved performance and fit over the garden variety earbud. For the size and fit they provide good sound reproduction, a handy phone function and a low profile look. If you like using ear buds, these are a very good option.

Target’s pre-Black Friday deals on Apple devices and accessories

Black Friday is rapidly approaching, but you don’t have to wait for the deals to roll around. You need go no further than the local Target for evidence of that, as company has already started offering incentives to give them your hard-earned cash in exchange for some of the best Apple products. You can get deals on the iPod touch and iPod shuffle, along with some of the cooler iOS device accessories.

SOL Republic Tracks headphones review

At Appletell, we’ve suggested numerous times that you upgrade beyond the horrible headphones that came with your iDevice. Trouble is, we’re often recommending headphones that cost $200 and up. That’s not always a viable option, so I was happy to discover you can get the audio improvement you need out of SOL Republic’s $100 Tracks headphones without sacrificing the functionality of iDevice control.
