Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” media event is just around the corner—finally—and as always, Appletell will be live blogging the event right here. After months of speculation regarding what’s next for the iPhone and when we’ll be seeing iOS 5, we’ll all finally know where this month’s paycheck will be going. To the iPhone 5? An iPhone 4S? I’m going to be honest with you, it’s hard for me to get a grasp on this year’s keynote. The rumors do not speak of stunning new hardware and major advances, they speak of OS upgrades and…clouds. And in a way, that makes it all the more intriguing. As such, we’ll be at this very spot come 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. EDT) for live coverage of the event.

Rumors of the iPad 2 have been circulating pretty much since the launch of the first iPad, and today we get to put them all to rest. Apple’s media event will begin at 10:00 a.m. PST (1:00 p.m. EST), and we’ll be covering it live right here at Appletell.

Wednesday, October 20th, Apple will be holding their “Back to the Mac” press event. As usual, the event begins at 10:00 a.m. PDT, 1:00 EDT. Officially, we don’t much about the event. The invitation hints at the next version of Mac OS X—Lion—but the rest is all just rumor and speculation. You can join us right here as we live blog the event. Apple’s kicking off the month of September with a media event today, and Appletell will be covering it live right here. To be fair, you may not need us this time, as Apple is running their own live stream of the event. But maybe you’re at work and you can’t run the audio, or maybe you just enjoy the industry insight and clever witticisms of your Appletell bloggers. Whatever your reason, be sure to check in with us at 1:00 p.m. EDT (10:00 a.m. PDT) for live coverage and in-depth follow up articles.

“And one more thing…uh, oops.” We likely won’t hear anything such as that at Apple’s iPhone 4 press conference today, but I’m not entirely sure we should. That we’re live blogging an impromptu Apple event regarding isolated antenna/reception issues just indicates to me that the company has become so important in the smartphone industry that a.) any gaff is viewed catastrophically enough to warrant a public explanation, and b.) when Apple wants to explain something, people listen.

The lead up to this one has been a bit more eventful than most, what with all of these iPhone HD images coming out of Vietnam and that entire Gizmodo iPhone brouhaha. Will the announcements be anticlimactic as a result? Does Steve have something special up his sleeve? And what about the good ol’ Macintosh?

Somehow, these Apple media events aren’t as much fun when you don’t have two to four weeks of rumor and speculation leading up to it. Apple just announced the iPhone OS 4.0 event on Monday. So, why the rush? What can we expect? Multi-tasking? Mail 2.0? Mobile advertising? We’ll find out today at 1:00 p.m. EDT, so join us here at Appletell for our live blog of the iPhone OS 4.0 event.

After nearly two years of rumor and speculation, it seems the clamor for an Apple tablet will finally be met with an official announcement. Will it finally arrive?
